Worky worky for me. Double shift at Launceston Hospital tonight, training a new bod on the first shift, then normal overnight, but I notice on the teams rota that I have no clinician for the second shift so if I am lucky I may get sent home at 23:00 fingers crossed. Saturday 22:00 to 08:00 Launceston Hospital do have a clinician. Sunday 22:00 to 08:00 Launceston Hospital do have a clinician. The guy I have Saturday and Sunday is a top bloke so looking forward to a good weekend.

Complaints about certain content being posted.......and people presuming that I'm here every minute of every day to read everything and pick up on these things. Obviously I'm not......I have to work for a living and you're all aware of the personal commitments that I have as well. So the only option is to appoint two people who can help in this respect because I can't do it all on my own. I resisted this for a long time (since April 2020) because I wanted to wait till the situation actually required it. And that time is now here given how things went down this week. I'll be honest.......I got to the point where I seriously thought of calling it a day, so this was the only option other than game over. This is the reality of the situation and people need to reflect on this: 1. I don't make any money doing this, in fact it costs me money. Can you find another place where the begging bowl doesn't come out? I'm not sure another one actually exists these days......and certainly not on commercial software. 2. Doing this takes up a lot of time, and I really don't have that time in my life. 3. When people join they're not doing me a favour. If they leave, they're not giving me some sort of body blow. It has no bearing on my life whatsoever. 4. I'm not one of those people who wants to go on a power trip and boost my self esteem by running a forum. I don't need any more self esteem.....I've got more than enough already! 5. I don't want to look like a big player in the motorcycle community. I don't want to play the poor man's "Sonny Barger". And I don't want to "fit in" or "belong" either. I do my own thing and always have. So what do I actually gain from doing this? The answer is nothing. I've been doing it since 2002 purely to put something back into motorcycling and the motorcycle community in the only way I can. Motorcycling has been good to me (it's been with me since 1971).....and without it I'd have probably gone completely off the rails in my younger days. Bit like you hear some Boxers saying that without it they'd have gone to jail. And ultimately this place after all these years has served as a final meetup point for old friends from previous forums to get back together again! Will it stand the test of time? Well the answer to that is down to each and every one of you! I can't do any more than I have!

Did 10k today with the Dear Boy, same area as yesterday but instead I cut across the headland along the Saints Way to Tregaminion and came to the beach from the other side. Bit windy but not a bad day to be out. The Lodge house is for Menabilly House where Daphne Du Maurier wrote Rebecca, Menabilly is Mandelay in the book. The light house structure is actually a navigation Day Mark called the Gribbin. It can be seen for miles around and tends to be the focus of many photos. The look of that dodgy style over the barbed wire made me wince, not going to be trying that anytime soon. You can see the remnants of a shipwreck down on Polridmouth Beach. I can't remember the name of the wreck but it was a Frenchman from around the 1900s, google it if you care enough. Can't feel my legs now so may give it a rest tomorrow.

Personally I think Pete is right to go through this process for selecting the mods. Folks get to vote on whose input on the forum they've seen reflects their expectations. I'm not sure that previous moderating experience is really that relevant, as other sites owners may have just appointed folks as moderators because they're mates. I think a few of us know of moderators that are completely unsuitable, but they're just there to kiss the forum owners arse! I think that all of the runners in this contest would do a good job, experienced moderators or not. You need mods who can work together to reach agreement on issues that may arise. The problem I had when I first started moderating on another forum was that one of the existing mods didn't like me and I wasn't too keen on him either, so we often struggled to reach agreement on issues because we had a completely different viewpoint! So, another thing to consider is, which of the nominees could you see being able to work together as a team? Just my Saturday afternoon musings.

Yeh.....I'm surprised it's been so close actually. As you know I nominated Bob and my vote obviously went for him. So I hope he gets one position.......as for the other position, they're all good candidates, but I do have a preference for who would be best suited. But I'm not saying who that is......you've got to make your own minds up or I'll be accused of trying to rig the vote.

Well im glad it hasn't closed I do spend a fair bit of my time on here, yes I am on other forums but this is my main haunt. I just hope that with having a couple of mods that things will get back to how they were in the beginning
