You lucky that I have a photo of the Suzuki.....cameras and taking the film to Boots was not my thing. My dad was a security guard at a local colliery, he used to hang about till 6.30pm to go to work, knowing my mum had missed the only bus that she could take to get to the bingo on time, so he thought......he would leave for work and after 5 minutes later my mum got on the bike and I dropped her off at the bingo. Strange as he was quite happy when she won £500 at the bingo, this was in1974.

I don't have any friends That i didn't meet through bikes, the people i work with are just people i work with and don't socialise with them outside of work. I've also met a lot of arseholes with bikes more in my later years than early years for some reason , or is it that i have become less tolerant as i got older.

My car needs to go but I'm having trouble parting with it, I somehow justify keeping it by telling myself I don't drive it very often which is true but not a good enough reason to keep it . We've switched everything else over to being compliant apart from one old car based van.

Talking of zones Bristols clean air zone starts 28th November. I've already been sent a warning letter for entering the restricted area, it'll cost £9 to drive directly to where my sons living but as he's about 50 metres outside the zone I will be able to drive around it. Wonder how much extra pollution and congestion it's going to cause as the tiny roads surrounding the area clog up.

We've got Critair stickers (clean air zones) for our cars and my motorbike. They cost about 5€ each and, as all of them are fairly low emission vehicles, we can enter most cities with the restrictions without further issue.

I'm pretty sure that my life took a different direction when I got into bikes. At one point I pretty much had 2 separate groups of friends......those with bikes and those without. I've still got friends who just don't "get" the biking thing and I guess they never will.

This one riding round the yard where I live on my first bike barely in control, shit yourself level scared and loving every single second. Woke up everyday for months excited, feeling like something good was going to happen and not be sure why, then I’d remember I have a motorbike.
