  1. talking of cars... I got out of a lemon today courtesy of we buy any car.... citroen ds3 1.6htp , ...bought it from BCA which own we buy any car so the cunts can have it back... .. as soon as i drove out auction gates management light came on , got me home just about , its been into two different mechanics , couldn't sort it . If you plugged in diagnostic scanner and cleared faults it would run ok for a few mins, any way i back dated log book put it in my name and booked an appointment with we buy any car, chucked it on my truck , parked up round the corner, turned management light off and drove it to wbac office in the corner of a morrisons car park,.... My plan went like clock work , so if you see this quality bit of French stock for sale give it a swerve

  2. Out for a walk around my home Town with the Ginger Fella. Well not really around the town but along the outskirts along a canal path. We also walked past the old railway yard. The red brick building you can see was part of the old railway sheds where the Locos were kept. Originally the was a massive turntable where locos were spun around and either sent back on their axis or into one of the sheds. The reason I point that out as it was the place that Rev Awdry saw that inspired him to write the tails of Thomas the Tank engine. Shame they are just industrial units now, but I do remember the turntable and engines when I was a kid. So at a real stretch you could say I grew up near Sodor. I followed the canal path right up through St Blazey to Ponts Mill woods and the Luxulyan Valley. A fantastic place absolutely littered with old abandoned industry, which is being slowly turned into a massive sort of park. When I was a kid is was just forgotten and overgrown and a great place for adventures on a dirt bike. Not permitted to do that now but it is a great place to go and spend a few hours. There is very much more to it that we covered today. We both did 8.5k and got absolutely soaked but it was a good walk.

  4. I had one of these. Got it off a friends mum as the clutch slipped. I only just got it home but £5 for a second hand clutch and £15 for the car, lasted me a few months before plod caught up and took it off me. I was 15 at the time and yes it was also shit.

  7. The more I know, the more I realise I don't know! And, as @Clive said in another thread, you can't teach an old dog new tricks! I accept that I will never be fluent, but I'd like to be able to hold basic conversations with people, rather than staring back like a rabbit caught in headlights when anyone speaks to me!

  9. Well deprearetly dragging this post back on topic I Hugged the Himalayan today. I don't think it is to much of an eyesore as the matt black blends in. I am not worried about it getting clogged up as I have no plans of taking the Himalayan off road any further than a muddy car park. I will probably go to a more road biased tyre when the time comes.

  10. As you're aware this place is going down the pan! Every thread ends up like a "Carry On" movie with the words "gay", "cunt", "nonce", and "twat" used as a reply to everything. And we aren't serious motorcyclists either......motorcycling isn't a matter of Life or Death, it's actually more important than that! I've always set myself the goal of ensuring members get value for money. After all, you get what you pay for! And as you pay fuck all......you get fuck all! But there are those out there that don't seem very happy with the fuck all they're getting! So I'm determined you're going to get more fuck all! And a better quality of fuck all too! To that end we've now opened a Customer Services Department which will be headed up by @Buckster. He's there to listen to your complaints and deal with them accordingly. You can tell him your issues........whether they're site-related, personal matters, or even your sexual problems! He's there to advise you! So just tag @Buckster in this thread if you need him!

  11. My ex had a Citroën ZX 1.9d, non turbo, for years and then handed it down to my eldest lad when he first passed his test. I think that in the nearly 20 years they had it it only needed a new battery and a couple of glow plugs, apart from tyres and brakes. Slow as fuck, but it just ran and ran. My lad only got rid because the drivers door hinges were pulling away, so the door dropped, and repairs were more than the car was worth. But it didn't have all the electronics and gadgets of newer cars.

  14. I'd like to think that too, but in London I got confused when crossing the street and figuring out from which side cars were coming from I wouldn't be riding as much as here, that's a fact, sit inside looking at the rain pelting the window

  19. This is not only possible but highly likely and don't worry if the baby is black or Chinese as that is very common in poker chip pregnancy.

  25. It's a very cool place. I have always loved it up in those woods. If people want to see it I will post some more pictures of the place. I am torn really because when we were kids you could spend hours up there having adventures and never see a soul. Now it's more like a leisure park. It is being opened up and looked after so that is a good thing but it does get crowded in the summer. It feels like our secret place has been taken away which is daft really. Many good memories and tails to tell about that place.

  32. I've lived here 2 years, but the first year was nearly all lockdowns, so I didn't really come into contact with many people. Initially I tried learning from books and audio books, but it really wasn't helping. I bit the bullet earlier this year and am now taking lessons via Zoom once a week with a French teacher, to give a more structured learning approach. It's slow progress, but it is progress I guess. I get frustrated with myself over how slow the progress is, but that's counterproductive. Hopefully I'll get there eventually.

  33. Ain't that the truth, I left school with no qualifications whatsoever, they kicked me out two months before the exams. Not saying it was undeserved but even so I was only 16 and didn't know my ass from my elbow after 5 years in their charge. Twas the 1970's of course. I did go back to education in my 20's and got my BSc, not that it made much difference to my life really. It did get the thick moniker off my shoulder though. Not woe is me or complaining just observing they way things were and still are to a certain extent.
