My job today was just outside Brecon town it was 0°c and there was a frost on the ground when i left for work. On days like this the reservoirs are usually like mirrors and i wasn't disappointed when i got to Llwyn Onn res it was pretty spectacular After getting to story arms i could see down towards Brecon there was still some fog in the valley and guess where i was working Driving from the above to this was a bit disappointing, Fucking fog didn't lift all day and the temperature never went above 3°c, i was fucking freezing all day and you think you got it rough Pete LOL

Got almost all the ingredients I need which I was surprised about. Found crème fraiche so I can make soured cream. I don’t understand Spanish dairy products. I don’t know if they have single, double or whipping cream cos I don’t get the Spanish translations, for all I know it could say fermented yak milk Also people kept talking to me in Spanish, I think it being dark meant they couldn’t see how properly pasty white I am

Picked up the rewound stator today from the team at Cartagena race circuit. Next job is to fit it and then fingers crossed the old DR600S will burst back to life!

I took out a kind of "top up" insurance for healthcare some time back, but when my OH started work she gets this top up insurance as part of her package and can include me in it too! Hoorah! BUT, when I tried to cancel the my top up insurance they put all manner of obstacles in the way and refused to cancel it! BOO! BUT, then the French government passed a law that says that you can cancel this type of insurance anytime after the first year, without penalties or charges! Hoorah!! So I've now managed to cancel the insurance and save 150€/month! Fuckin' excellent!!

it's a TGB Blade 1000LTX, the light bar is an add on extra. The company I work for import and distribute a dozen or so makes of motorcycles, quads, and SSV's. We don't sell to the general public but supply dealers. The machines arrive packed down in special pallets. some dealers put them together themselves so we simply import and distribute. Some dealers want the machines to be delivered assembled and ready to ride, so we have a workshop that unpacks and puts them together, the logistics departement then does the despatching. We also have a repair workshop mostly repairing engines or whole machines that are returned to us either because the dealer can't or won't do the work themselves, or because, in some cases, we have sent a replacement part or engine and the damaged one is returned to us, in which case it will be repaired and returned to stock. I collate and format all warranty requests ( i don't decide what gets acceptedunder warranty or not) translate them into english and transmit them to the relevant maker. I then translate their reponses back into frog for the company and, where neccessary, provide further information or photos or whatever. I'm officially an " after sales technicien (warranties)" As my office opens onto the repairs workshop, I get to play from time to time too.

No i seem to have lost the enthusiasm for the bikes at the moment so i thought i'd just hang around here and troll you all day LOL

It’s snowing again this morning, just as things were getting cleared…lol It is actually really nice to have this snow right now, as it has allowed me to get comfortable driving in it before departing on my trip. Received a spare tire carrier for the van yesterday, so that will get installed today. Just a swing out hitch mount, so it shouldn’t be too difficult. Even Pete could install it…. well

Back to soft loving family pet now but proud of him for taking the rat out. It's the second time he has done it, in the summer we had a rat get in the house and sorted that one to. That’s the thing, you get scared and you crawl along and then you burn your clutch / front digs in and spits you out / no momentum means not in control in sand. So you ride like you’re not worried about crashing so that you don’t. I was, though!

I am not a muff fan (ooer) but I do actually own some (a few pairs actually) and have used them when it is super cold weather. I have found that as previously stated, wrap around handguards are a must to stop your brake light coming on and to keep the inner part open for you to reach the controls. I always end up using a few zip ties at the opening to keep them exactly where I want them, keep switches clear and make putting my hands in an out easy. This means putting holes in them of course. I usually only manage a few days before I get annoyed with them. My main gripe is that I sometimes have to pull my bike backwards whilst standing at the side which is hard to do with a bar muff on and my left hand on the grip and impossible if I need to turn the handlebars left as I go backwards.

Not riding to work tonight, local radio gave below freezing temperatures and the road gritters are out. With confirmation from the other half I am taking the van. I don't blame her I would make a fuss if it were the other way around, saving on MPG isn't worth risking your hide.
