I have been sitting working at a PC for too long this last year and my little pot belly has started to annoy me. So I decided to get off my arse and ride out on my push bike today. Jesus it's cold out, well for the first 10 minutes, I warmed up after that. I was only out about 40 minutes, but the uphill return definitely got my heart pumping. Happy Sunday Today is the first Sunday in a while I have no cooking plans, I was supposed to be joining friends down in Cornwall for birthday celebrations but I’m still black n blue from the aerial skiing I’ll be staying as still as possible, well I will be right after I tackle the freezer that went kaput while we were away and was too much for the boys to deal with. I completely forgot until last night when I saw watery freezer juice leaking out of the bottom at increasing speed. Odd that all of my appliances have kicked the bucket within a year or so of each other after 20 plus years. Odd and feckin pricey!6 points

My Transalp, 2006 and 2007 Cold day near home, Arouca hills Galician coast south of Vigo Serra da Estrela: Few adventures with that bike, including being stranded on a mountain by myself and leaving the bike overnight, breaking a waterpump casing also alone on the hills and being towed home, and meeting a wild wolf near Serra da Estrela. I liked that bike a lot.4 points

The only time my arse has touched a bike this month is when my chain block lowered it onto the seat but if my excellent lake photo is no good for your precious bike of the month that isn't either4 points

Fowlers rang yesterday, said they'd heard from BSA and are expecting delivery on the 1st/2nd Feb. Said it may well take a couple of weeks from that point to prepare the bike (what do they do exactly?) but he'd ring as soon as it arrives so I can go have a looksy4 points

I spoke to a guy who rode it and he said it felt a bit low on HP at the top end but it had excellent torque even though it had less than 200 miles on it, it’s possible that the HP situation will be a bit better after break in.3 points

Think it was 4.7 miles on the path. Time we got back we’d covered 11 miles and no one single moan from the girl. Would have been a different story 10 years ago.3 points

I did do one day in the pissing rain, on small town tarmac roads covered in thin layers of slimy mud and occasional rainbow coloured oil slicks. This is when you ride very slowly, very very carefully and with your wedding tackle retracted to keep it from damage in a fall.3 points
