  1. I had a free day today and the weather forecast looked good so time to get out for a ride. Quick fuel up and grab some sandwiches in the petrol station at Wick and off to the first lane. Star lane was still a bit mucky , probably a sign of how things might be today........... Did a couple more lanes and then turned off the A420 at the Crown pub ............. This byway used to go straight on at this point but then somebody plonked a major bypass right across it At the end of the lane I came across this, f*cking boils my piss when the lazy bastards do this .............. Down across the A350 and stopped to take a photo of Lacock Abbey ...............

  2. Cnuts. I’m voting for myself. Nothing better than pleasuring yourself…….sorry, did I just say that out aloud?

  3. This lane is called Heddington Steps, it used to be quite a challange many years ago with a chalk surface and steps up it as you climbed the hill. It has been resurfaced now and they have totally sanitised it ......... I stopped on the top of Roundway Hill and the sun was just starting to brake through the clouds, it had been a drizzle fest up to this point .............. Rode some lanes around the back of Devizes ........... and then down one of my favourite holloways down to Potterne ................... Did some more lanes south of Devizes and then headed to Caen Hill locks to see what they look like nowadays.............

  6. Actually I’ve voted for Marcel. His complete lack of effort and total disregard for anything remotely artistic has struck a cord with me. Either that or I just feel like being a cockney cnut.

  7. Bull rushes to you ................. Time to stop for a coffee from the trusty flask ............. After the coffee stop I rode some lanes south of Trowbridge, caution was taken here as that bridge is probably slippery when wet ............. I started to head for home now, so a mixture of lanes and roads took me through Semington , Melksham and Bradford-on-Avon until I got to one of my favourite lanes called Pipehouse .............. and one more lane on the outskirts of Bath, taking care through the travellers camp at the bottom of the lane ...................

  9. Done next to FA today. Mandi got back from Singapore about 9.30 this morn and is doing almost everything possible to stay awake till about 7 tonight trying to get herself back into British time. All they had to eat was chicken, pork and beef with either rice or noddles although the salad bar took a hammering after all were bored of the same thing. First thing she had when home was a bowl of wheatabix with cold milk, went and had a costa coffee then home for bacon butties. Northern girl through and through.

  14. Got home from work after a night shift this morning but wasn’t that tired so decided to make the most of the weather and go for a bit of a bimble. I traveled out through St Austell then Sticker to turn onto the Roseland. I tend not to go there that often and I can’t think of any good reason not to, Tis a beautiful place. The first stunning village you come to is Tregony, I get dragged down there to their Heavy Horse show every year but I don’t mind at all, although I may protest. Out of Tregony takes you through several smaller villages with some cracking names like Reskivers and Ruan Lanihorne. Onto St Just in Roseland not to be confused with St Just in Penwith where Jethro comes from, and past the sign post for the King Harry Ferry. I was hoping to get a photo as it had been recently altered to the Spare Harry Ferry but some humourless soul had changed it back so I didn’t bother. Several more small villages and some really muddy salty roads brought me to the millionaires playground of St Mawes on the Carrick Rodes across from Falmouth. A simply stunning little town as long as you don’t look at the property prices. Went there pilot gig racing many times in my misspent youth. Had the briefest look at the Castle then rode back to Portscatho. Another beautiful place, I remembered singing there, probably 12 years ago, in a lovely little chapel right down by the sea. I was sad to see it is being converted into another luxury residence, another community centre gone. After that is was time to travel home. Did 45 miles and made a mental note to go back soon when the roads are clearer and get some better photos.

  15. I don't keep broken shit, I just bin it. I used to take pictures of knackered stuff I had at work, I might be able to dig a couple of them out. I came across this in our workshop t'other day, The engine came in as a warranty repair job cos it was " made a nasty noise and stopped working" my professional opinion was " That's probably fucked then innit"

  26. My daughter was keen to get a bike but Mum decided no, "she has no fear and will die". I got a ts50 for her but it had to go. That said I love it when she's riding with me. Constantly shrieking and laughing, not to mention the numb bum song. That normally happens when we're getting close to Manchester. She's going for her second driving test at the end of Feb as mum thinks she's a little safer in a car.

  27. That can knock it down to a large share decent house for around £550 plus bills. Most of the good stuff gets nailed down now, leaving til later only leaves the stuff no-one wants or can't afford, as we learned to our cost

  28. You can get houses outside the very centre under 200k Just not where I want to buy.
    2 points
  29. Right in the centre if you're talking about rent it varies wildly from £700 all in on a large house share to £900 plus bills but can be as low as £500 for the shitty don't want to live in that houses. Buying a two bed right in the centre (ie walking distance from everything) is £230k ish. Go out of the centre but still on good bus routes it drops significantly and you can get a three bed house that'll need work, then for £300k or more one in reasonable nick.

  43. I worked a bit in a turkey abattoir it was quite interesting how the killing process worked and boy did it have an odd stench about it. We went through 3 electricians over 3 weeks there they all handed their notice in which was great because we were looking for a way to get rid of the useless feckers
