  9. He wasn't a friend as such.....he moved to the area a couple of years ago and I used him to do airport runs a few times. He said he was handy with tools.....but he wasn't. As for interpreting....it wasn't him, can't remember who it was.

  16. Engineer has been and it's working again! The problem is the quality of the wood pellets this year......they're blocking up the burners. So they're going to send one of the servicing guys round to clean the system through.

  31. Had a little bimble today on the Beta. I haven't been on it since November so it needed a run. First thing i noticed when getting ready was my bike trousers have shrunk i'd blame the wife's washing but she hasn't washed them so not sure whats going on there LOL. The bike fired up no problem i let it warm a little and off i went to explore some woodland a few miles from me I went over the old parish road from my fathers house its hard to believe i drove my reliant robin up here in the late 80's and my father drove a bubble car up here in the late 60's Had a little look about in the woodland below thought i found a new trail but it was a dead end I rode over to the next valley from here for another look about, started heading down through the woodland following a trail and lost track of where i was and wasn't too keen on going back up what i just came down, stopped here for a quick wee and to get my bearings A guy passed on a trials bike on the track at the bottom of this bank so i rode down to ask him the best way out after he told me i had to come back up as i left my glasses here after my wee Obligatory photo of a stream crossing Back on a track i know heading over to the Rhondda valley Had to cut the ride short as the low oil light came on i hadn't topped it up from the last ride and didn't check it before i left which is not like me i'm usually paranoid about the two stroke oil level This is looking up the Rhondda valley taken from a different location to my usual one which is about in line with with the handlebars on the hill in the distance by Miriam's bench It was good to get out but i could really feel my lack of fitness i need to get out more to build it back up even my thumb was hurting i think from when i bent it back crashing the dog a few years ago

  33. I've had this conversation with myself about 100 times in the last six months , do I replace my CRF250 Rally with the 300 version, in the end i've decided to keep the 250 . There are two main reasons for this ; the first is build quality. I have two mates who have bought 300's and they've both been disapointed with the quality, whereas my 250 is 5 years old now and has been ridden in all sorts of shit and muck and is looking better than their 6-9 month old bikes. The second reason is that hardly any of the parts are interchangable between bikes which means I'd have to spend a lot to make a 300 trail worthy as I couldn't just use parts off the 250. The 250 is by no means the fastest bike in the world but it puts the power down where you need it on a trail so I can live with the slower progress on the road.

  35. You are right about the 250 and 400 sharing the same chassis and the 125 and 175. From what I remember the DT175 MX was much better off road than the TS185 but the Suzuki was the better road bike. I rode a long distance trial in 1982 on my brand new TS250ER , I was still running it in at the time. My mate was gutted as I beat him on his DT175MX, he lost nearly twice as many points as me
