It says we can change the picture if we find a better one or we like more or just because we feel like it, something that I have done many times and once actually won, just once sadly... the best thing is to change at least 5 times!! I love change so from now on, if I actually have pictures... Will swop about like a floosy until the last minute! If all of you do it we get to see many more pictures of each other, win-win!! And may the best man/woman/whatever win!!7 points

Todays bodge was for the Beta. The one thing i'm missing is a mirror but there is nowhere to mount one, the only space on the handlebars to put a generic clamp mounts the mirror too far in and i cant see past my elbow so i decided to make a mount and bolt it to the hand guards Started off with this bit of aluminium bar i picked up in work a few years ago and offered it up to where i want to mount it I need to cut out a groove so the bar of the handguard locates in it, i used my chop saw which has a metal cutting blade in it to do multiple cuts to create the groove Lots of filing after this to take away the ridges and the curve of the blade but it's something i will do at the end as its a lot of work to do and then find out i don't like the end result I need to put a taper on the end so it doesn't clash with the wind protector part of the hand guard I have to guess the right angle so have a few attempts to get it right zero engineering skills used here LOL The part cut off and cleaned up Mounted on the handguard almost finished didn't have a tap with the correct thread pitch for the mirror so got to wait until the one i ordered arrives quite pleased with the way it turned out7 points

Seems like someone is taking this too seriously, I went ahead and submitted a new picture not in the original three that were in my illegal market research.7 points

Got another bloody cold, the gift of grandkids ay. Sitting here thinking about the pile of washing up that's been growing since Mandi got home Friday evening. Talking of Friday, capri engine in and running although poorly, some setting up to do. Got a little Kia sitting outside, stops for no obvious reason and won't start again until left for a while. I've been out in it 3 times and runs perfectly, fuckin cars. Daughters driving test has been cancelled so the fiesta that's been sitting in the garden's going to be sitting there a while longer.5 points

Aaw come on. The mans repeatedly posted pics that work against him in an oblivious fashion, in-spite of good backdrops, for at least over a year now. Set him free.. of top box, badly proportioned, terribly angled photos please.4 points

Mine are from Bulgaria. bought pre-brexit. but from a UK dealer. Adventure Bike Shop. Brand is Bumot. but they do not make anything for the Scrambler specifically. unless it shares parts with another bike. Its a fairly niche bike so might be a case of get what you can. I would look carefully at Metal Mule. They do produce frames for the XE variant. They are generally highly regarded and at the affordable end of the price range compared to Touratech, for example. Less than £900 for the frames and panniers. made in the UK. https://metalmule.com/product/triumph-scrambler-1200-pannier-frames/4 points

I must be too easy going because none of that bothers me and if it did i wouldn't vote for that person no matter what photo went up, its not like your going to get any cash or even better a free breakfast for winning the way i use the site i never see the front page anyway4 points
-
My point is the members vote on it so it doesn't matter if its Bucksters bike on the moon or a shit bike in a fantastic scene the members decide what they want on the front page by voting every month, if i want to enhance a photo and its not to someones liking then they don't vote for it just seems simple to me4 points

You don't stand a chance, now Petes finished cleaning up the submissions and everything's calmed down someone will kick off about photo's not being in landscape....4 points

It is clearly February, you can see that by the angle of the Earth in relation to the Plain of the Soup Dragon where it was taken.4 points

No wonder you never win, adjust your expectations The bike is the dominant feature and it’s a bike forum not a landscape photography one. It’s displayed at a beautiful angle (I’d ride that.. even tho its a honda ) . The background leads your eye visually to the front tyre which looms large in the pic and ready to go. Theres no dumb practical shite attached to it (dumb practical shit is a necessity as I’ve repeatedly photographed) but the naked bike with the raw background looks GOOD! Desolate surrounding and a mans machine is a winner.3 points

I’m torn cos Busabeat has the Hayabusa (although not the improved cropped version) and yet Pete’s accidentally entered a good bike pic. What time does the voting finish?3 points

They definitely have a purpose. But that seems to be almost completely defeated when you are restricting yourself to items that can only fit in a 40 litre pannier even if it’s 6 of them. To my mind a trailer allows you to carry those items that would normally have to go in a car boot. Like a larger tent. Proper camp beds. A decent cooker. A bottle of gas maybe. Heading somewhere and basing yourself there for a week or two. Rather than the usual (for me) travelling light and moving on every day or so.3 points

I see lots of bikes pulling trailers to the motorcycle rallies now and have to admit i'm really jealous of the comfort they bring when camping usually see the older generation pulling them but it's something i just cant be bothered with it rolls all the disadvantages of a car and motorcycle into one vehicle bit like a trike or quad3 points

That place never seems to change! Got memories of the police blocking the road into the town in the 70's to stop about 20 of us on bikes going in.3 points

Happy Sunday Not sure what I'm up to today, not having a proper oven is vexing especially on a Sunday when I look forward to having extra time and experimental kitchen gets under way. Heyho. Probably try out Pedro's Moroccan coffee cos that doesn't require an oven and maybe spatchcock a chicken for a roast as the little microwave size oven can cope with that. Other than that probably fighting with the Garmin Zumo to route through France and pouring over the long awaited BSA What you up to?3 points
