  1. She’s home, they were worried she’d had a stroke but more likely an inner ear infection (meniers disease) No high blood pressure, heart is good and good chest X-ray ( I asked if her boobs got in the way ) so all good there . She’s waiting to be referred to Ear/nose/ throat hospital. Just go call me nurse Bob this week

  3. Had to go to the laboratory we use this morning to get some blood tests done in readiness for the visit to the anaesthetist on Friday. Got in there just before 8am. Got the results, apart from the urine cultures, just before lunchtime. Interesting that my Hep B antibodies are still pretty good, considering it's been a good few years since my Hep B jab! Everything else is looking good so far.

  4. This oven thing is the gift that keeps on giving. I now have two ovens in the middle of the kitchen cos the hose that was connecting the gas has a big sticker on it saying “THIS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR LPG” Apparently a natural gas hose (which is what it’s been connected by for twenty years) will deteriorate and start leaking. Had a lucky escape there me thinks! And now the wiring diagram that is physically stuck on the back of the oven does not in anyway match the wiring thats actually there. And the poor sod who’s fitting it is in his 70’s and supposed to be on holiday right now but popped around to do install it as a quick favour Wonder how long I’m going to have to walk around this

  5. I was an instant convert. place I worked at a few years back had adults with fairly extreme autism, one side effect being they had no sense of danger. The kitchen wasn't off limits, but it had several safety features built in. One of these was a very nice induction hob, which as they don't get (burning) hot is fairly safe. And as I had to use it as part of my job. well I found it to be absolutely fantastic. When the gas oven on my own cooker failed. it was a no-brainer. I will never have another gas cooker. neither a gas hob, or gas oven. It would be a big step backwards. just as I could never buy another manual transmission bike after riding a DCT for 4 years. or unblock the forum troll. these would all be backward steps. And im not bothered by insults... though it is disturbing to me how so many members of this forum are starting to sound just like six30. try to be more imaginative with the insults.. he simply can't be, but the rest of you should do better. I think you should all take a leaf out of Bucksters compendium of insults... so imaginative and endlessly entertaining. For example describing a shapeless lump of rock that might have a cave/dwelling in it as a dago midget bum palace. truly marvellous.

  6. You cook with what you gave, but you need to be a twat to prefer electric anything over gas on a stove.

  9. It was freeking cold that day too! IIRC that wasn't fog blocking the view - that'd be a cloud. Something like 14,000 feet up? I seem to remember riding back down before you guys to avoid hypothermia, and waiting for you in a parking lot with a perfectly clear view of the surroundings.

  10. They won’t be going on permanent, only when we do Italy, end of summer. Planning on going all the way to Sicily, staying there for a week, then back into Italy, and catching ferry across to Croatia. We will have a laptop with us, as we will need to do some work in the 5 weeks, but not happy about having a laptop in a non aluminium pannier!

  11. A friend of mine owns an engineering firm and bought two lathes for £100 I got offered the small one for free just before i bought the one i have. I would have loved to have had that instead but it was imperial and about 6ft long there would have been no room in my shed for me if that was in there as well, he's converted it to a CNC machine now and it works well. The old stuff are the best

  15. It’s a world leader in vaccines. Contributes more to the United Nations peace keeping forces than any other country (apart from the US) and is poised to become an IT superpower. Its science and technology departments are right up with some of the best to the extent they’re about to enter into space missions. They are the worlds second largest food producer. Unlike a lot of countries they have a very young population which increases productivity and has obvious economic benefits. Whatever their image of old is that’s not who they are. Colonialism died a very very long time ago and they been moving forward fast. They even reckon India could become a world superpower, their economy is growing fast, it has overtaken the UK and become the 5th largest economy. And English is a common second language with over 150 million people fluent, second only to the United States! So they have no barrier to global trade due to language barriers.

  16. Just to say, I’ve been down at Marazion in Cornwall, with no signal, sorry!! it’s not spam, I was genuinely asking about the two types of panniers, as they seem to be the only two makes other than the metal mule that do aluminium panniers for this bike! Bit of a homophobic comment, but I do have a van !!

  18. Most people would consider a £2800 Rangemaster a decent appliance. Chefs all choose gas because it is quite simply better so you mate can feck right off!

  27. I’ve ordered a new one. The letters are the correct legal size (ie still jumbanormous) but the extra bit of plastic on it with FOWLERS written on it has to go. Look at it, it’s absurd.. the plate that is not the bike before Pete chimes in

  28. Thanks for all the advice above about the aluminium panniers.I think I’m going to take a trip down to metal mule and take a look at there’s , and there’s a company who supply unit garage panniers down in Sussex, so I’ll contact them and ask if I can go down and check them out.

  31. Ok, noted. But, and not wanting to sound macho-machistic or anti/in favour anything and running the risk of offending someone, if you want to atract more members you need pictures of girls scantily dressed draped over motorcycles!! More of those and numbers will grow exponentially!!

  36. Got an induction hob in Spain, don’t mind it but gas is much better to cook on, more nuanced heat control. Well it would be if I could get the bloody thing plumbed in. Anyway have you seen the price of electricity, I’d be frightened to turn it on
