After two weeks in the Portugal sun I'm now in @Earache's neck of the woods. Today I find out if I still know how to ski. I would have waited to post so I could add a picture or three, but decided that I'd post something now due to the chance of something going horribly wrong... it has been a few yers and I am getting older after all. I'll try to avoid running into any celebrities... but I won't promise anything.6 points

Yes, how do you know we are all real here? Perhaps we are just here to keep you occupied so you don't delve too deeply into lots of secret bollocks.4 points

Car has gone in to be serviced.....needs to have oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, and pollen filter this time round. Got to be done as we've got a few longer trips coming up next week: Guadix on Sunday (taking my boy to get the bus to Madrid), Granada Hospital with the wife next Tuesday, and back to Guadix again to get my boy on the Saturday.4 points

Off to pick up the delayed laminator and a couple of bike covers to try and fend off the dust n fine Saharan sand that blows in. Might need a hand with smoothing out a bit of English to Spanish translation later cos while I do ok (with the aid of online translation) I need to make sure a couple of sentences really make sense or they may charge my allkaline battery like a gel or lithium one..3 points

Found them and the alternatives but you never know with google translate, it’s literal and makes some large errors sometimes. Anyway so long as they get the idea it needs to be charged on a particular setting that’s all that matters.1 point

I'll sometimes check against Google Translate if I'm writing something (to be sure spelling is right) but more often than not I need to manually correct a few things on the phrasing. For that particular phrase she could also use "tiene que ser este ajuste".1 point

yessir. present i bought myself when i turned 40. Bike vibrated so much that the air cleaner screw backed out while salesman was showing me the bike. Had one hell of a motor! Would break the rear tire loose in second gear, while moving.1 point

I saw the last episode of The Cleaner this week. A bloke who had died had asked that at his wake there was a Shakin' Stevens tribute act. The Cleaner booked The Shaking Stephens. The lead singer of the tribute band in the programme was played by the real Shakin' Stevens. Anyway, he popped up on my Youtube feed with a new song, so here is some classical Welsh music:-1 point

Just finished watching the series MAGPIE MURDERS on BBC I Player. Not only did I think it was most excellent, I loved how they weaved two stories into a single programme, it was very cleverly written and acted. The other thing I liked was that I recognised most of the locations used for filming, they are in one of my ride reports.1 point

Dolly Parton' Coat of Many Colours meets Brick Lane. I had a school uniform blazer when I started senior school in 1977. It was enormous, The back hung down so much I looked like I was about to fling it up and sit down on a stool and play a piano concerto. My Mum said I would grow into it. Never wore it after the first 6 months. I think it would still be too big for me. https://spitalfieldslife.com/2023/04/02/suresh-singhs-tank-top-i/1 point

Sometimes it’s easier if you avoid trying to open their mouth and just pull the cheek out and slide the measuring syringe down the side. Hope that makes sense. It’s how you give medication to dogs or children who clamp their teeth firmly shut. They don’t have to open their mouths at all cos the syringe fits down the inside of their cheek.1 point

In Invergarry, we turned off A82, onto A87, running alongside Loch Garry for a bit. A87 turned out to be a nice, little race track running alongside Loch Cluanie! We pulled over at the Cluanie Inn for lunch. After lunch, it was time for qualies as we continued down A87, stopping at the Eilean Donan Castle, near Dornie Gary and Chris were our top to qualifiers for the afternoon. They look happy with their time:1 point

So, finally dusting the cobwebs out of the old grey matter, i recalled that iphone photos are geotagged. Found a quick little routine to plot them in Google Earth and finally figured out where the heck we went The BnB above was on A84, north of Loch Lubnaig. We came into the Green Welly from the south and then headed out A82 afterwards. We pulled over at the Three Sisters Viewpoint to get a great look at the valley, and listen to bag pipe music! Still continuing along A82, amazed at the beauty, we pulled over again at the Commando Memorial. There is an additional little garden with memorials to recently fallen soldiers Looking at some of the ages just reinforced my belief that wars should be fought by the old fucks that send the young into battle.1 point
