  1. Quite liked it, pretty cool bike. Could see how fun one is as a commuter if you get a faster one. This wasn’t fast at all, it topped at 100kmh on a downhill but struggled to get past 80kmh on the flat. No idea what engine it has, but on these the rear brake is plenty enough as long as you don’t confuse it for the clutch. Special picture just for you: Dropped that for a service as a favour for Sofia’s flatmate, and jumped on the Speed Triple going for lunch, quite a change.

  2. I will have a completely new motorcycling experience today. Riding a Vespa! It’s got no front brake to make it interesting, but it’s teal blue and has a little topcase!

  11. What’s funny is that ‘he’ is a ‘she’ Pete……..got some health issues which means she struggles to keep weight off even though we’re really careful. She has to be the most gentle dog I’ve ever come across, a proper softy.

  17. Just spoke to my boy in NL......him and the other one don't communicate as they've never got on. Anyway, he's lost his shit over the situation now so he may well kick it off with him before we do! As it is, the one with the Polish bitch is not answering our calls or messages.......which shows that he's aware of how bad it was, and how the wife is going to react. She's now gone into Council House burning mode (it's the Penlan DNA kicking in).....tell em @Sir Fallsalot.........so anything can happen!

  20. I rode one for a short distance once and nearly hit a wall whilst dragging my feet at a few miles an hour. The lack of front brake is about the same as a fully functioning front brake on one of those.

  23. I went with my mate today as he is after another bike. Specifically a Yamaha XS 650 US Custom. First one we looked at was dog rough and pissing oil, for £2.5k. Not the right one. The second one was a much better prospect only 16,000 miles really tidy original Damerells bike owned by a retired Damerells mechanic. That was spot on but £4k. If it was my money that would have been the one but my mate was undecided. The same chap also had a XS1100 with 300 miles on it. An XS750, an XS1-B and a 1981 DT175. All immaculate and for sale from his own collection. Wish I could have got some photos to show but the chap wasn’t keen to have them shared around so I respected his wishes. Anyway after that we headed to Damerells for a cuppa and sandwich. I got chatting to a chap who has just ordered a new Yellow Hornet today for August delivery. Anyway Damerells was low on stock but it is silly season. The line of sold bikes was long. Saw a nice Harris Yamaha outside Damerells, believe it had a R1 motor but not entirely sure. I have also come to the conclusion that Damerells is a sort of day care centre for silly old fuckers with too much time on their hands And before anyone says I do resemble that remark and my mate is 8 years my senior

  24. Took a run up to the top part of Negratin......hadn't been there for some years. Unfortunately being a Bank Holiday the traffic was bad.....not something you hear me say very often. And when I got to the top of the reservoir there were people everywhere getting in my way when I tried to get pics. Turned out that most of the Cam footage was ruined by splattered flies as well.....so all in all, nothing went right. Apart from the bike of course. I did get some nice pics though........ Yes I know you don't like the Top Box......but once again it came in handy today as I was able to switch jackets when it got warmer. Read it and weep you Casuals!

  27. Just got in from some trail riding in the pissing rain, someone i know was asking about the XTrainer a few nights ago and he has a CRF300L, so i said we could meet up and swap so we both get a good feel for the bikes. He obviously loved the Beta and after we covered a good variation of terrain in shit conditions i have decided i can live with the 300L. It's not a very inspiring bike to ride but it just does everything well and cheaply which is something that sort of goes against the way i normally choose bikes, everything about it just makes sense but i don't by with my head LOL, This 300L rode a lot better than the one i rode in Barmouth last year, I've had in the back of my head there was something not right about the set up of that one be it tyres or suspension i don't know but the one i rode today i was a lot more confident on. So all i need is some space now, and there's the problem i ain't selling a bike to make room so i cant see me getting one

  28. If I was a bit closer I’d come and give you a hand mate but I’m up to my neck with stuff here so that doesn’t help. Sorry to say it mate but your son needs a fucking lesson in manners and respect and at the same time needs to grow a fucking pair. Thing is that when you’re related to someone it’s often the case that you want to overlook things that you wouldn’t put up with if it was a friend or work colleague. Fer fucks sake don’t make that mistake in this case. ………….. and calm down before you give yourself a hernia
