  1. It's been pissing down all day so thought i'd do a little maintenance on the XR The mounting rubbers on the fuel tank had gone hard and the tank was moving about so replaced them and since i had the tank off i checked the valve clearances, all ok just had to loosen off one of the exhaust valves as it was a little tighter than the others. I also decided to remove the exhaust manifold stud nuts one at a time to copper grease them as they can seize and snap the studs all came undone ok, Last job was to clean the air filter, I'm embarrassed to say i think I've neglected this job for a while which not like me to let it get this bad i'm not even going to clean it just ordered two new air filters. The clean one i fitted is showing signs of age related deterioration so that will be binned as well when the new ones arrive

  2. We're got a new river crossing, or soon will have. This is just opposite to were the bike was parked. Been closed now for a good few years and the bridge building has taken it's toll being so close so I'd guess it'll be gone soon. Was a favourite for the dockers and their families years go. Last one looking towards Gorleston side of the harbour.

  7. A family up the road to me bought a bigger house only one street away from their old address. On the day they took possession they found that the sellers had taken the patio with them. There was just a sad looking area of sand and cement with the pattern of the slabs that had been taken. They could have taken legal action as it was shown on the fixtures and fittings list, but in the end their estate agent was so embarrassed he paid for the patio to be rebuilt.

  15. I'm making my infamous sausage rolls for a bit of a coronation do tomorrow afternoon. Women say men can't cook and to be fair the microwave just seems to make the pastry hot, but how hard can it be. I'll give them another blast I'm sure the stuff will rise and crisp soon.

  19. There's another at the far end of Yarmouth called the Iron Duke. The local caravan park purchased it to stop it opening again and taking money from their own food and drinks sales. I now believe after lots of years and local intervention it's now been sold on and have plans to reopen. So fingers crossed for this one to. https://www.edp24.co.uk/news/23197881.iron-duke-pub-great-yarmouth-become-zaks-restaurant/

  25. Pressure's really fucking on now! Paco just phoned and said he's got a potential buyer for the flat, so his wife Alicia is showing them round tomorrow! We really gotta go for it now.......they can't go in there while it's still got a lingering odour of Polish death camp!

  26. We just got back from the flat! It's looking a lot better now than a couple of days ago......but it's still not at the standard it was when they moved in. We're back there again this evening. And the fucking skank has taken Paco's mini oven, ironing board, and sweeping brush.......we'll need to get him to confirm if she's nicked anything else.

  28. It was probably a very hectic adventure, no chance to take a camera out, riding from dawn to dusk with not even a stop for fuel, the odd traumatic event thrown in on french motorways, and fast paced parties the rest of the time, just too awesome to record.

  29. I'm a simple person when it comes to food. meat and potato's like that is all i want but almost every restaurant i go in wants to spoil the meat by cooking it in something or covering it in some kind of sauce

  31. Beef chop, at home cooked on coal beef “posta”, which is a traditional cut of the Tras os Montes region, from leaner meat. It’s got a lot more texture than softer fattier cuts but tastes amazing. From my Tras os Montes report. Sofia’s Moroccan keftas leftovers turned into a sandwich with raw spinach and mustard.
