  2. Stopped off at the Crow Bar on Shoshone, California for lunch. Old style diner that hasn't been updated in years. Had a couple of burgers that were good and the wofe had some homemade blueberry pie that she said was excellent........

  3. Saturday we head out into the desert with no real destination. Again, there's not shit out here - no people, no towns, no nuthin'. Just miles and miles of empty road ....

  4. Never been there before.....it's down in Almeria! It's some well known religious place of worship and people come from all over the place to visit it! As always, the Catholic Church explores all avenues of cashing in somehow.......so they've built a Hotel and Restaurant there as well! All the people going in were dressed up to fuck.......whereas I looked like a vagrant, and then I had a piss in their rock garden! Had to.....I was fucking busting! So here we go! Very rural roads to get there......in most places the surface was pretty rough. Eventually found the access road for the place....... We're quite high up here and very windy! Got as near to the building as possible cos I don't like walking! And I'm suffering with a Hernia FFS! They should have brought out the Pope mobile for me really. Life is so much easier with a nice Shad Top Box! Despite my physical limitations I walked around the place! Had a look inside..... Internal courtyard! And one area that's kept behind bars! Fuck knows what goes on in there! Back outside....... So I had a decent run out, though surprisingly it was a bit on the chilly side......about 17C. Made worse by very strong winds. Done enough miles to take the bike in for an oil and filter change now.......but rain is coming in on Wednesday so not sure whether it'll be this week. Bike went great......I can't fault the thing. You lot can of course......but when did your opinions ever count?

  5. Today i had a few things to test out on the XR, one was to see if i fixed a small oil leak on the rocker shafts and the other was the gearing, i wasn't happy with the gearing on my ride last weekend, on a few lanes i was giving my new clutch more abuse than i liked as the gearing was too high. So before my ride today i needed to change the rear sprocket from the 40 tooth i have fitted to the standard 45 tooth. First sprocket bolt i tried to remove i rounded the Allen key head of the bolt because i got carried away with the lock tight when fitting them last time, i had it all up the shaft as well as the threads Anyhow after trying to bang a torx bit into the bolt head and failing i remembered the easy out set i have and it worked a treat all i needed it to do was to hold the bolt and undo the nut the other side After fitting the 45 tooth sprocket i found the chain was too short so i got pissed off and ended up fitting the off road wheel instead which has a 42 tooth sprocket fitted, after heading up over my mountain i decided the gearing was far better and will be fitting this sprocket to the road wheel and getting a larger one for this wheel. The lane up over to the wylie was nice i hadn't really noticed until today how green everything is and it is bloody hot as well. The woodland over the wall on the right is a carpet of Bluebells. The familiar smells of dope and cow shit as you ride through the countryside are replaced this time of the year with flowers and blossom Considering how hot it is this lane was still quite slippery as were others with a lot of water on some. I have passed this old mill hundreds of times and didn't realised until today it has a bit of fame attached to it When i took this photo i noticed the plaque above the door When i had a closer look it said this this is his story if you want to be edumacated https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artie_Moore On the way to the next lane you have the wonderful smell of freshly baked bread as you pass the Braces Bread Bakery in Oakdale It's getting hot so i stop to take the chin piece off my helmet to go open face from here and these guys come over to see what i'm up to Poor buggers were covered with fly's Glad i went down the next lane from manmoel as the storms has washed it out a bit and had me in a bit of a sweat will have to revisit on the X trainer i think There was a nice stream to cool of in at the bottom, it's all slippery rock in there and a horrible crossing After i took this photo someone dropped out of the woods on the left a bit further down on a bike took me by surprise, we had a little chat and went on our way he was living not far from me and was on his way home from work now thats a ride home from work LOL I wanted to have a look in the old railway tunnel from here to see how it's getting on but there's a tree down blocking the entrance so i just headed home via a couple more lanes. When i got in i ordered front and rear sprockets and a new rear tyre for the road wheel. I also ordered new sprocket bolts which cost £8 for the bolts washers and nuts on line, from Honda they would cost £120 Couldn't see no oil misting on the rocker cover so hoping my fix has worked hopefully.

  7. The restaurant area was devoid of any nudity and was really clean. Beers were ice cold and her margarita was perfection, albeit a tad on the expensive side at $23.00. Pints were around $8.50 each so not too bad. Food was even decent. I should have snapped some pics but we devoured the stuff too fast and I forgot to photo. Anyway; usual Mexican crap slathered on a plate. Pretty good! Weird looking place with odd lights, very dark interior and big bouncer guys at the front door. All kinda odd, weird Vegas kinda shit.

  8. The wife's flight arrived really late last night - around 12:00 midnight. I didn't eat as we were going to go out when she arrived. So I looked around and found a 24 hour Mexican joint online that would be open. Great ! She likes Mexican food a lot so this will work out for us. We pile into the Uber and drive about 20 minutes to the place. As we pull up, we notice that it's located in a titty bar! This is gonna be good. I offered to just go back but she wanted some food so in we went....

  12. Anyway, last night was the reason I came to Vegas in the first place; to see George Lynch play at a local bar I like here. Cool place with a HD chopper above the bar. Was waiting on the barmaid's titty to fall out and lay waste to all of the beer bottles on the bar - but it didn't happen....

  15. Listen everyone, I think it is time to draw a line under everything. I am going to give @Six30 a break and not increase his ban, despite his misrepresentation and bad sportsmanship. In fact I think everyone should give him a break and just to show there are no hard feelings I have decided to give him a special role. From now on he is my official forum bitch! I'm sure that like me, you are all looking forward to his BOTM picture. For July.

  17. The wife had me out walking again this afternoon i'm sure shes trying to kill me off the walk back up from it was long and steep We visited the tallest straight drop waterfall in south wales Henrhyd Falls. Not very impressive today as the flow was low but a bit of fame attached to it as it was used as the entrance to the Batcave in the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises.

  23. Speed limit is 65, (this is in California - fuckin' lefty, commie, liberal state that wants to tell you how to do everything), which is pretty low. I did roughly 85 across all of this. Going too fast and the pig of a bike drinks too much fuel.

  26. One of my new sites is about 30 feet from Dennis Severs' House, an old Georgian home that has had every room restored to a different period and is open to paying visitors. I had no idea who Dennis Severs actually was until reading this today. I will do the tour soon. The house is easily spotted as it is the only one in the street with a flame fluttering 24/7 in the real gas lamp outside. Putin would do his nut if he saw all that gas getting through. https://spitalfieldslife.com/2023/05/14/how-paddy-handscombe-met-dennis-severs/ Links to pictures of the house at the bottom of the article. 27. I don't find it more difficult as such, i'm a lot slower and just plod along now enjoying the countryside instead of zooming through it, i also find the tall seat height on the XR makes things seem more intimidating than it used to be plus i'm not as bike fit as i was due to lack of saddle time. The washed out lane i'll be back to ride on the X trainer as it gives you so much confidence i think it takes 20 years off your age when you ride it as i'm willing to attempt things i used to be comfortable doing many years ago

  29. With wind, high speeds and 2 up, I'm getting about 30 mpg. 4 gallon tank so I get 120 miles to a tank. A bike this big and heavy should have at least a 6 gallon tank.

  32. After about 100 miles and I'm starting to look for some some fuel. I get it when I can - not when I need it. If I see a fuel stop with 75 miles on the tank, I'll stop and top up. Wish this bike had a larger capacity tank,

  34. Doesn’t that make you want to stretch a bike’s legs? Ubi non accusator, ibi non judex. That’s Latin for where there are no cops there is no speed limit.

  35. How many miles does the bike go on a tank of gas before you start getting a bit anxious

  37. Just been reading up on Artie Moore and i'm quite impressed, he built a radio transmitter/receiver that picked up the Titanic's distress call 3000 miles away from the attic of the Mill in my photos when he told the police they didn't believe him and it was two days later when the official word confirmed his story, that was over 110 years ago when i had my CB radio in my 4x4 to talk to my mate in his it only worked line of sight for about quarter mile and that was only about 20 years ago
