It's all go, this retirement lark! My sons were over for a week and then Mandy and I had a week near Venice. Met one of my old work colleagues for breakfast in Montpellier yesterday morning. Then spent the rest of the day doing housework in preparation for Mandy's son to arrive today with his girlfriend for a week. Then yesterday evening he contacted Mandy to say that his flight had been cancelled, but he's rearranged it for Saturday now. Mandy's got an appointment with anaesthetist tomorrow in readiness for her gallbladder removal the week after next. So, it's non-stop fun here!6 points

Wait a minute here young man...you've been going on for a year now that it was the best bike in the world and the best bike you've ever owned...reliable to a Swiss watch and your worried about the warranty....I say bullshit..I think you're finally realizing it's a scooter...and you're tired of getting bummed at those Honda meet.6 points

As it was a cracking day today so we drove to another part of the river, much nearer to Bath than Bristol. It was great walk and we saw loads of wildlife, butterflies, dragon and damsel flies. Two herons and then just caught sight of a kingfisher flying under the old railway bridge, first one i've seen for years.6 points

Turns it into an adventure, he’ll be like Tom Hanks living in the airport except stopped in a gas station somewhere.4 points

A white one with the classic look ang gold wheels is the bike for you. Order one, surely the CB will last a few more months. A cheap flight or a train to Madrid and riding it back makes for a different couple of days.4 points

.......on the bike next week! Obviously I've got no concerns about having any issues.....but it gives you peace of mind when you've got a warranty to fall back on! And over the last year there's been some bike switching going on here: I think @Skippy's gone through 5, and @Marcel has gone through 4. So I'm feeling a bit left out! A new Strom down to 7.5 grand with a 4 year warranty would definitely be interesting! Punjabs, Chinkies, Yanks, and Euros would not be considered!3 points

Fer fucks sake Pete don’t buy a new Transalp, I don’t care what colour they do it’s a fucking boring looking bike. Dull, dull, dull. Buy something that’s more exciting such as a KTM 890 or the Husqvarna Norden 901. ………..or a Himalayan3 points

Went for a walk this morn with a mate and got piss wet through again. This afternoon after the rain had cleared it was off to see the little gt125. Clutch cover gasket replaced so hopefully only one spot on the floor when it stops next time. Not been into the other side yet but I suspect it's the output shaft seal. Next time.3 points

Well last night I took it into some twistise ...and it felt like a sport bike ...probably not fair to compare it with my 2015 harley but I was taking it about 20kph faster and felt like I could have even gone faster...it felt solid and planted...no frame flex at all...the engine is part of the frame...3 points

The other day my mechanic had a BMW 650 with an oil leak to fix. someone was checking the oil when cold and keeping on adding half a litre at a time, engine was overflowing with oil from the admission, all breathers, etc…, it’s a surprise it ran with more than twice the normal amount of oil in, turns out there was no leak, it was just blowing oil out. Shame someone at a dealership does that, more so on a 30 grand bike.2 points

So your after some tunnel love then Bob You can just get in it from the Mountain Ash end but you have to turn around at the Quakers Yard end as the A470 to Merthyr stops you getting out the cutting now2 points
