Just got back from the Docs after getting the results of all the tests they did.....ECG, blood, and urine. I've never had anything like that done before so I had no idea what to expect. Especially with me having had Covid (plus four jabs) and whether all those may have caused other issues. And the result was that apart from having marginally high cholesterol I'm in perfect shape. Which was a shock for me considering I'm nearly 70. I don't need to take any medication for the cholesterol because it's nowhere near those levels, but I have been told to go out walking! But as I told her, that's not possible until I get my Hernia done. And even then it's going to give my knees grief if it's any sort of distance. So the other option is a bicycle apparently.4 points

It's just about to tip into that territory hence having to write a letter. They have been involved just once as he had to renew his shot gun licence, they came around and he lied about he marriage being sound. The police obviously picked up on something asked her on her own, she didnt know what had been said and told them they have separated and are in the process of getting divorced and that he wasn't living there. They let him keep his guns on the understanding they were kept in the gun cupboard where they are registered and told her she must let them know immediately if he comes to get them. Well he took them, she got scared and the police took the guns. Thank fuck.3 points

Welsh wrestling legend Adrian Street has died aged 82. What a life he led! He wrestled all over the world......till he was well into his 60's in fact. He was a seriously tough guy......not somebody you'd fuck about with despite his flamboyant image! There's many stories about him, but my favourite was when they booked him to do a match with Jimmy Savile in 1971! And he was supposed to go very easy on Savile and let him win. He wasn't happy with that......so he just went in and beat the shit out of Savile! Fucking legend!3 points

Maybe consider getting a heavy motorcycle. Something tall too, so that you drop it when off tarmac and then takes some effort to lift up. Now that’s a man’s workout.3 points
-
They’re similar to motorcycles, except really slow and you get to places exhausted. Is there nothing you do daily on the car that you can do on an easy 20 minute stroll? Going to the bakery or something like that. I think gently walking is a lot easier on the knees than bicycles, plus you’ll hate getting on a bicycle until it gets cooler.3 points

The main difference is that I actually ride mine, yours is a garage queen, weekend dildo.3 points

I know exactly what you're saying there mate we are all at different stages in our biking careers, I don't ride the busa any faster than I did the ninja, the only thing with the busa is that it does it much easier and more comfortably than the ninja did, yes I know many other bikes would do the same job as I require but I just always wanted a busa3 points

Personally, yes I would , I have absolutely no interest in anything like that. I have missile Ducati's at my disposal in work all the time but I've no desire to ride them as I've done all that years ago. Like I say, we all have different needs/wants from our bikes and that's why peeps buy the bikes that suit them and their needs. As you're still (fairly) young I see fully understand your need for speed but there's a lot of guys on here who have been there and done that so their priorities are differnet now3 points

Bob gets my vote because the scenery makes the pic and its not a gay cruiser or 125cc with a top box fitted3 points

Cuckoo in the nest. Meaning: An issue or a problem, etc, is a cuckoo in the nest, it grows quickly and crowds out everything else. Another woman, masquerading as a friend looking for a husband, any husband so long as it's a farmer.2 points

Bob got mine because that scenery brings back some good memories for me oh and the DR is ok as well LOL2 points

I would turn it down purely because i have no self control when i get on a fast bike as i go fast, but i cant see that fast anymore so need to stay away from them LOL that's why i went onto the adventure type bikes you can still go quick through the twisty's but don't end up riding 120mph everywhere. When the Hayabusa first came out they had a demonstrator in the local bike shop and i went over to see if i could have a go but they wouldn't let me unless i bought the bike first which was a good thing because the only reason i wanted a go was to do it's top speed LOL PS i can still think of a few places where i could top it out2 points

Yep. If anyone has knee issues that is what a surgeon would recommend. There are usually stacks of them available second hand on places like eBay.2 points

A static exercise bike would be MUCH better than riding on the road where you can't control the starts, stops or inclines. You also can't control the weather and I don't see you out on the road in all conditions to get that 10 mins exercise done everyday.. too hot.. too cold.. too rainy. At home you can place the machine in front of the aircon. Happy days. Cycling on a static exercise bike is a hell of lot easier on the knees than walking. Walking involves impact which is what sets off knee pain. Cycling is non-impact and builds up the muscle around the knee, ultimately helping reduce pain in the long run. The compressive forces of walking downhill are usually the finisher for age related knee problems.2 points

Personally I can't see how cycling is going to be any easier than walking. Like @Pedro said, just take a gentle stroll to the shop/park/DBM's clubhouse to start off with2 points

Whatever you choose to do after such a long period of inactivity is going to cause you a lot of grief, whether you're successful will be very dependent on starting off very small and building up very slowly. The level of commitment is usually where most people fail. 10mins max every other day for the first week, then once you can do without no consequences 10 mins everyday, then once 10 mins everyday is too easy increase by no more than 10% each time on the distance. Do not instigate another increase until you can complete the exercise with complete ease. Exercise bikes are the best choice for someone getting back to fitness because the resistance can be lowered, you can cycle consistently without starts and stops, you can easily measure what you're doing and it's possible to watch tv while you're doing that boring 10 minutes.2 points

It’s scrumpy - ‘Stan’s’ by Thatchers. Farm gate laws mean it’s £8.80 for 5litres. As you know real cider catches people out because it has a much higher alcohol content than it tastes like it has. You can warn folk but it’s generally too late by the time the message has sunk in2 points

I agree 100% a 200bhp bike for the road is completely ridiculous, there is literally nowhere that even half the power can be used, but and its a big but..... would you turn it down?2 points
