The wife is away in a rock festival somewhere this weekend the boy is getting his end away on the isle of man again for two weeks and the daughter is never around so i'm on my own again. Not planned much other than cleaning the marmite wagons interior and maybe having a look at some of the advisories it had on the MOT back in January LOL It's just dawned on me the wife left this morning and is not back until Sunday and i haven't a fucking clue where she's gone for the weekend all i know its something to do with music and its in the UK5 points

It passed OK. Had a slight problem, the lights would not come on when scoot was started, but they did after 10 seconds, have to look into that one.5 points

More bloody heat....... Tomorrow morning I'll be doing what I should have done last week if the starter motor hadn't gone in the car. And that's see a client in Baza, and then take the wife to the shops. Sunday morning early I might have a chance to get out for a while.....fingers crossed! What you got planned?4 points

Mr Slowly has that with his Enfield in Spain. They don’t get going too early and it’s LOUD. One occasion I’ve asked him wtf are you doing? and he replied “pushing my bike out of the parking in to the road so we don’t wake everyone up like iiingalish pigs”4 points

If i was in the market for a CRF 300 and they were in short supply i wouldn't think twice about getting the chinky variant, It probably doesn't bother me it's a chink because i can fix most things myself. the bikes are relatively new at the moment so there's not much real world info on them yet so you cant really slag them off based on real chinky shit of the past until some high mileage reviews come in4 points

Wouldn’t worry about it, it all adds to the excitement, will I get pulled by the rozzers? Will someone ram into the back of my scoot? Can I make it home without something else breaking?3 points

A guy on the scoot forum has been trying to sell his scoot, same model and year as mine, he tried for 3 months and gave up, it is stood in his garage now, he says he will try again next spring. Getting spares is a bit problematic.3 points

Off for a very quick spin on the Goldstar before more decorating, then a ventilation system guy is coming to service and explain whatever it is it does (apart from filter the air) cos I am clueless on that stuff, my ventilation system at home entails opening a window. There will as usual be zero pics3 points

After riding around lots of different places at work, I parked at our contractor's yard and walked through a few streets to a Turkish restaurant where one of my friends/colleagues had invited us to lunch to celebrate his second retirement. On the way I cut through the Lefevre estate and took some pictures of the giant flowers which you'll see in the pictures I took today FRED. My friend's name is Nasser, he's an Iranian. He came to the UK to attend university and to keep him out of the Iran/Iraq war which was killing and maiming his school friends at the time. Further education was encouraged by the state, exempting you from compulsory military service. When he told them he fancied studying civil engineering in Britain they pointed at a map of the UK and said choose wisely which city he would like to go to..... Nasser said he knew nothing about Britain at all. He had a quick squint and put his finger on what he hoped was a throbbing centre of nightlife, loose women and wild parties and it was all sorted out for him. Anyway, after a few months in Bournmouth, he spoke to a friend who was also studying in the UK and they said he should leave Bournmouth and switch to where they were, another crazy happening place. So he transferred to Colchester!! There he met his English wife and eventually in 1986 he ended up working with me. He partially retired about 10 years ago and used to do 6 months on, 6 months off. When he worked with my team we gave him new jobs that he would start and finish in that time and it worked really well. He could visit Iran and help organise his parents care as they got older etc. Then he was transferred to a lazy team in maintenance and they saved loads of jobs up for him and presented them all to him on his first day working that year. He would get loads of grief from people who thought he had been sitting on the work for months. So now he has hit 65 he decided it was time to go permanently. He has two grown up sons. One applied to join the Police but was turned down as not being ethnic enough. When he said he was half Iranian they said that wasn't good enough. He became a plumber instead.3 points

Yes i do the Honda CRF is a budget Jap bike, Chinky bikes are getting better every year and jap bikes are getting worse every year i don't think there's a lot between them now, plus his one trip would constitute a lifetime of your type of riding as in your hands it would never get wet or see mud, the suspension would move less than half its intended travel and i'm sure it would have no issues lasting the 1500 miles you do between bikes. the only thing i would be concerned about is would the paint hold out against all the polishing it would get.3 points

So in answer to Petes question "Will you use it Clive" The answer has got to be no, because besides it not having any running lights, it also has no brake lights.2 points

They've taken a leaf out of buckeyes shoes and fitted the bikes with trailers, something about having to fit in2 points

Not a lot. Ex-neighbours coming to visit this afternoon (they live in Australia now) but that's up in the air as the M5 is shut and they're stuck in it . Taking Paolo to the nursing home tomorrow to see mother-in-law , apparently he will be singing for the inmates. Saturday evening will be kebab and beer/cider2 points
