After the MOT i had a run up over the Bwlch mountain road where someone showed me how slow their car went as i flew past and he disappeared in my mirrors LOL something I've noticed for quite some years now is when i start pushing on on the bike and the adrenalin starts flowing i get a pain in my lower back like a cramp i can push on the same on my own without it but when someone else is involved i get it. I think my body must have grown a slow the fuck down mechanism after i turned 507 points

Had the MOT done it's a nice little old school workshop and there's always some old characters hanging around there, the owner Barry was away today so had his side kick go through the bike with a fine tooth comb glad Barry done the MOT on the dog LOL. Something that has just started on the MOT certificates is a notification comes up if there are any recalls that haven't been done on the bike. One came up on mine for a circlip on the center stand i couldn't be arsed to book it in to Honda travel there and back for a £1.50 circlip so never got it done. A few photos from the workshop not much there today6 points

I think I've said before my dentist insisted on getting his whole hand in my mouth every time i was in the chair when i left i always felt like i'd been in a fight and thought it was just normal for dental work that was until i had to use a different dentist in the practice, first time with a woman and it was almost a pleasure compared to the bloke that was beating me up, so i told them at the reception i didn't want to be worked over by him again and wanted to be treated by the woman in future he was a butcher5 points

That’s very cool! I watched all three of these trees grow. The Left one is an olive tree, just sprung out by itself maybe 3 years ago, the middle one is an indian tree, forgot the name, around 6 years old also sprung out by itself since the neighbour has a few, the right one is an almond tree I planted with Maria, it was a meter high twig when we planted maybe 5 years ago. trees are very cool I have this vision of people in Portugal in a few centuries wondering how this very non invasive trees ( Argan ) very hard to germinate, ended up all over the country.4 points

Second little tree is in the ground. It’s on a little bit of public land, a triangle next to my neighbours’ house. If it grows I’ll be able to see it from my house in about 200 or 300 years, cool stuff, can’t wait. It’ll be a tough little tree if it manages to grow there, the dirt’s colour there is very Moroccan like, but it’s very rocky very tough ground, look what it did to my pick. It’s windswept and arid but it properly rains and gets to freezing temperatures in the winter, I hope she makes it.4 points

Dentist in an hours time, I don't particulary hate the dentist but she's not very good at her job. Let's see if she can get my crown to stay put for more than two weeks this time Hoping to go for a walk with Paolo tomorrow if my back allows , still walking a bit like Mr Crab at the moment . Haven't ridden a bike for two weeks now, I'll see if I can get my leg over on Monday all being well as I'm supposed to be riding to Cumbria next Friday .4 points

Got a new battery for the bike today, a little trick i do is to put a piece of foam rubber under the battery terminal nuts to hold them in place it also helps start the screw when you have a few extra accessories added to the battery terminals making the screw too short to reach the nut I also bit the bullet and stripped the carbs off the bike to clean them out, couldn't see anything wrong with the main jets but both pilot jets looked blocked so cleaned them out and blew all the fuel lines out. It's now its running on both cylinders again going to have run it at least once a month from now on just to keep it going and maybe one day i'll clean the outside of the carbs LOL3 points

There's a rumour circulating that Honda may be putting that new 750 motor into a retro! And allegedly it's going to be based on the original K0 styling! If they do it authentically with a 19" front wheel then it's got my attention. Along with probably thousands of others who spent many years in their younger days on 750 Hondas! By a strange coincidence, the 3 sons I had in my first marriage (1977, 1980, 1982) and the eldest boy from my second marriage (1988) were all born when I had SOHC 750 Fours, and the youngest from my second marriage (1991) was born when I had a DOHC 750 Four! However, even if I did get one of those Retros, the chances of son number 6 turning up are fairly remote! And probably biologically impossible!3 points

Why not go for a ride on a Kawasaki retro, though? They look very nice in person, and are very comfy to sit on. The paint on the 900 is amazing, only maybe Harley does something so nice.3 points

Forget it @XTreme, it’ll never have a 19 inch on the front. And the bike’s character will be completely different being a 2 cylinder. I don’t know what it is, I have very little experience and have ridden maybe 10 bikes at most, but I do also find smaller wheels kind of weird in corners.3 points

No, it has to go through their workshop first and they're quite busy. The salesman told me about 10 days so hopefully it will be the middle of next week. I'm not in any hurry though as my back is still dodgy.3 points

I hadn't thought of that but my experience in the past has tought me that when you see those guys it usually gets worse before it gets better. I'll stick with the Ibuprofen for now and hope it gets better before next Friday .3 points

5 little trees were looking like this a few days ago: They were moved outside with the beginning of summer, and I kept them in a place sheltered from the wind and as much sun exposure as I could at my parent’s place. Now two trees, the biggest one and the third biggest one moved south. The biggest one is now on the ground by my oldest tree from 5 years ago. It’s a very windy area so there’s a helper bar to keep it from bending too much. The other one is going on the ground by my neighbour’s house tomorrow. It’s a very poor quality ground, rocky and dry, in a very windy and dry area. Hope it does well, they’re hardy trees that live in such places except for the wind. Also, we might have a problem with roots interfering with houses in a few years, but I’ll leave that to the people in 2200 to deal with.2 points
