Recently found that one of my relatives was a pilot in the Second World War and he was training to fly Lancaster Bombers when he crashed on a training exercise in the north of England. He’s buried in a cemetery near to where I grew up so I went along yesterday to see it and pay my respects. From the RAF records it looks like he made a common mistake as he pulled the flaps lever instead of under carriage lever which caused the crash. The whole crew died when the plane crashed near Doncaster at Kilham Farm. The records imply that one died instantaneously but the rest, including my relative, died the next day. What a waste. Seven lives gone by a simple error of judgement.

Took Sofia’s bike out for a quick wash, and rode it around town to warm it up and get it properly dry. I don’t know how you can ride bikes like that responsibly, my license would be finished within a week.

Yes it was registered by the place i bought it from but the one thing i don't like about this dealer is he don't supply number plates all he sells is dirt bikes and nobody wants a full size plate, caught me out the first time as i picked the bike up on a Saturday afternoon and i couldn't get one until the following week so ended up spraying a plate yellow then writing the numbers on with a sharpie to get me by. I was ready this time number plate arrived yesterday and is fitted. I'm in the middle of prepping it unplugged every electrical connector and applied some dielectric grease and sprayed all the hidden bits with ACF50. Fitted the sump guard and big tank and heated grips, now i'm fitting the spot lights the hand guards and drilling them for my mirror mount then i got to wire everything up . Still have to change the front and rear suspension springs but i'm going to try the stock suspension first to see if its been improved. Then it's fit new mousses which i forgot to pick up after work today. The old radiator guards don't fit so have to get new ones of those as well.

I have been many times in the past......it use to be a regular occurance for BSB teams to turn up and use the races as development work on the bikes.......as said, seen some big names turn up there.

It is Ride To The Wall this Sunday.........and Stars of Darley (Darley Moor race track near Ashbourne) is on Sunday too, some well known names racing....and a good weather forecast too. Me this Sunday...... visiting the outlaws.

It's not the best race track..it is basically a triangular track, good for spectators though. And entrance fee is reasonable.
