  1. No hope with your bike cos it never leaves the garage! Do you use it as a vase or a doorstop or something?

  3. The bike saga goes on. I received the parts from SW-Motech so it has now been fitted with the sump guard, top crash bar, soft panniers and rails and a GPS mount. I still need to hard wire the mount but have been using the lighter socket for now. Last Monday I rode up to North Wales to visit my aunt for her 92nd birthday and to try and get a video of the Llanberis Pass. Some of you might have seen the results on FB. Anyway here they are again. "Yesterday I rode up to Porthmadog to wish my aunt a happy 93rd birthday, and then to ride the Llanberis Pass once again. Note to self - learn how to use the camera before you use it! Long story short, I had to ride the pass three times as the first time I'd forgotten to start recording, I think! So it was back to the campsites, turn around and try again. Success! Or so I thought until I got home. It seems that for most of the time I'd only used the front camera so didn't get the 360 experience. Anyway here's the result. A very sedate run up the pass catching up with a load of cars, that seemed to have been held up by cyclists." Someone asked me what I thought about the bike so far. "Hmmm. Fuel consumption seems to be about 63mpg so far but should improve. The seat is a work in progress. I hope that my arse wins else it’ll be another seat. Engine needs to be worked, so seems noisier than the GS. Quickshifter and gearbox no better than the GS - had expected better, but maybe I need more time to get used to it. Suspension ok, but obviously not GS standard. No cruise control, a shame. No fuel range indicator - surely easy to incorporate in a software update. No external temperature gauge. I’ll find a stick on one online. I’m sort of happy with it, but time and a long trip will tell. Would I recommend it? Not sure yet." I did try and post this a couple of times before but didn't get much joy with it and gave up! Not sure what I'm going to do about a top box. I have an almost new Touratech one, but they haven't produced a mount for the Transalp yet. I'll just wait I suppose.

  6. Got the new mobile set up so I tested the camera when we went to feed the horses. Pics seem a lot sharper than the old one, and the colours are more vivid!

  9. It’s frustrating how much of a victim robbery makes you feel. You can be tough and be out hunting for them but what happened is that someone worth nothing has managed to take something worth something from a better person, and that’s peace of mind and tranquility. A good few years ago my parents’ house was broken into, they were both asleep and I was dozing off at 2 or 3 AM. I was still awake to hear my brother driving into the garage before sleeping, and as he’s walking in they were walking out the other side. The thought that two people broke into the house either without caring to check if people were in, or having checked knowing that people were in are both terrorising thoughts. Lights were on 5 minutes before they climbed the wall. All this to say that they didn’t have time to steal anything of value but did ruin our peace of mind and tranquility for a good few months. Hope he doesn’t let it spoil the fun of having a bike.

  12. Me and Gail went to St Fagans folk museum last tuesday, and by the time we had got halfway around I couldn't breath and Gail was complaining of back and leg ache, so we will use it for when we go to places where we have to walk a fair distance then we can share the scooter.

  13. Not only that but I get free rego (road tax) on one vehicle although I have to pay the third party insurance so my vehicle costs me 50p a day to keep on the road, comprehensive insurance is £11 pm and petrol is £1 a liter. Life is good for a pensioner here, actually just got an increase in the pension to £640 a fortnight. YMMV

  14. So today was the day to get the little Yamaha out on the lanes so I planned a route for me and my mate Gaz (who lives in Redditch) to meet near Cirencester and do a loop of about 80 miles . The then anti was upped as Big Tone decided to join us on his brand new Gas Gas 700ES. I set off about 08.30 and made my way up to Badminton via the A46 and then some back roads.............. We were meeting at the AV8 cafe at Kemble airfield, it was definitely open this time as @Sir Fallsalot wasn't coming ............ and after a coffee and a sausage baguette we were off. We rode down the Fosseway and Gaz braved the ford while we watched .......... and on we went down as far south as Castle Coombe race circuit where we than turned east but with a stop for coffee from our flasks ........... Once we got to Startley we stopped pay our respects at the RAF memorial .............. Onwards through more lanes coverd in shit and puddles until we got to Fairford. We stopped in athe fuel station there for a lunch a la @Earache (where the hell is he ?) ............ After lunch we went North but Gaz got a puncture on the first lane of the afternoon................... Once it was sorted we carried on but spent most of the afternoon dodging showers . There were still some nice lanes though despite the soggy conditions.............. Once we got to the A429 Gaz headed off north to get back home while me and Tone dodged showers going south. The little Yamaha peformed faultlessly, I'm very happy with it. I just need to see if there is any adjustment on the rear shock but everything else was fine

  15. Got a phone call this morning from nephew, he had gone to Mcdonalds on his bike .. couple of skip rat cunts tried to nick his bike. he was inside when a bloke came in and said some one is trying to nick your bike, ran out side and it was in middle of car park on the floor, the bloke had stopped them taking it and had chinned one of the fuckers, they was two up on an electric scooter, fair play to the fella stepping in and stopping them . They snapped steering lock off it and when they dropped it its snapped the clutch lever and hand gaurd and a few marks on side casing. Mcdonalds wouldn't let him see security footage cause of data protection , will only show it to police. he managed to ride it home ok , i went and picked him up and we drove round for an hour trying to find the fuckers , no luck though. Told him to ring old bill , witnesses said one had a hoody on but the other didn't so hopefully they can id him, makes my blood boil , he grafts hard and saved up for his bike and you get these cunts thinking they can just go and take stuff.

  16. Blimey, that takes me back . I used to deliver to the museum about 40 years ago . I also delivered to the contactors building the A4232 link road from the motorway near the museum before it was open, I drove up that road before it was open with no barriers etc

  27. No problem at all, the Emphasema is what causes the problem of walking distance, I walk for a while and then need to rest to get my breath back. With the scooter we can swap over when one or the other gets knackered.

  32. When the house next to us used to be rented out the renters were ringing cars in the garage. I used watch them changing plates on cars from my sons bedroom cos the dozy scroats were doing it at night with the lights on in the garage
