Off all my kids the youngest is the one who will learn to do stuff and listen. I am sure she will help although there maybe a clash when she tries to tell me how. She spent many hours working with me in the shed before she discovered horses. There is still a pink toolbox up there although it is pretty dusty now. Here is a couple of pics from 2016 of her working on a school project ( Mrs Robot). She is currently picking my brains about all things bike for when she turns 17 and gets her first one. Must be black, cool and have gears she says. Baring in mind she was only 16 on the 18th of this month its going to be a long 12 months. Of course I will do it for her and moan, that is my job after all. She is saving her own money to help pay for the Livery of the new horse out of her wages from the job she got. She tells everyone she is the favourite child, which I have never said and do try not to treat them all differently but she is the baby of the family.6 points

Oh fantastic news the youngest has decided to switch stables. Gonna cost thats for sure. She has informed me that she will need a tack room at the new place. What she meant is she will need a shed to keep her horse stuff in. whichever way it is gonna be a pain in the ass. There is a good 8x4 shed up the garden that I put on a wooden 6"x6" frame a few years ago, so I just need to get rid of the crap that is in it, about 4 push bikes and scooters. Which can go to the charity shop and should have done so years ago. Then take it up to the new stable and put it together, roof and stain it, plus shelves and hooks etc. Total pain in the arse. But as she keeps telling me she is the favourite child.6 points

Couldn't pass up some decent weather this last weekend....so I was off for some exercise aboard the 'Goose. Can't say enough about riding in NE Oregon....the views absolutely blow away just about anything on the left side of the state... Heading out on the east side of Elgin....after crossing the Grand Ronde river & Gordon creek here....then the long gravel uphill to the cemetery....which reminded me of just how old I'm getting....lol Fortunately, I persevered!.... Gotta be honest, @ this point I didn't have enough left in the tank to finish this climb as the cemetery is about halfway up this hill.....a destination for another time & then I'll get some pics of Mt. Harris. Needless to say, I definitely enjoyed the sprint back down this gravel hill....barely made the corner @ the bridge! Eventually eased up on the pace to stop for a water break here on the way home... My personal goal is to ride ALOT more so I can eventually justify buying a Yamaha eMtnBike & expand my range.5 points

I was collecting something today from a shop in Dorset and I actually saw another one, very rare occurrence. It was a 19 and looked like it had a tough life … but it still looked good, even with all the age related dings. When they first appeared they had asymmetric wheels, bigger front than rear with a slightly higher seat height and I think they look better that way, even tho ( reportedly) the handling suffered due to limited tyre choice. Mine is a 22 “s” so not the highest spec with ohlins front and back but I really love it. It’s not super refined and smooth like a jap bike, the engine is a twin, 600cc per pot and vibratey at various revs, the bloody phone interface is kind of crap but it’s great fun. Goes like stink, loads of torque and sounds great. The only thing I’d change is adding a quick shifter. I’ll see if I can find a half decent photo…3 points

I really thought you were announcing a gender or sexuality change in a typically British fashion I’d say - Well sounds like you’ve got a lot of work on your hands. If you like once you’ve written out your to do list I’ll check it over for you. Hand her the tools and if not old enough or knowledgable enough (unlikely if she’s a child) give direction/lend a hand. IMO that’s an invaluable lesson that’ll save her a lot of aggravation and money in the future. The huge amount of time my Dad spent with me telling or showing me how to do practical things has been worth more than I can put into words.. well thats not true it’s me, I could put it into words but the thousand word essay would attract derision.. I’m risking it just with this post edit - I also make my children earn the money for the things they want by doing jobs that need doing but then I’m probably a mean mama3 points

Yes.....we've tested them for heat and they work well. But to completely heat the whole house nothing beats the Pellet Burner.3 points

So they can stop the crims. That's a few more visitors for Mablethorpe once the Costa del Crime is off limits.3 points

Put some wine in there too. I really should take the GS to the Eifel in Germany. See a few friends, do a few laps of the track just cruising around, I’ll try to do it next year. If it happens I do plan to stay for two or three night near you so we can do a ride around those roads you keep posting about, plus a proper dinner or two. It’ll be planned, so @boboneleg, I’ll keep you up to date if it happens.2 points

The seasons are changing.....because for the first time in 6 months we bought Pellets. We haven't used the Burner yet but it's likely to be pretty soon. And the prices have dropped since last year......€5.80 compared to €7.80. Though they used to be €3.80 before the war in Ukraine, so we're still paying over the odds.2 points

The Fall of The House of Usher. It’s weird and dark and violent and ghostly and suicidey, not that good but I can’t stop watching it. It’s on Netflix.2 points

Blues Brothers 2000 on tv right now. It’s the kind of thing you just have to watch when you’re browsing and it’s on.1 point

Get the electric now, it’ll increase your range instantly. A fast electric mountainbike feels like cheating (in a good way) once you see the speeds you’re doing uphill.1 point

Did you ever see Madeley try to interview Oliver Reed on This Morning? So funny. Reed who didn't suffer fools gladly at the best of times was as usual pissed and looked at Madeley wittering on with a silent contempt, eventually Madeley ran out of steam and in the brief silence boomed "You silly little orange man" got up and left. Live TV at its finest1 point

He is a total knobber, as soon as anyone he interviews is about to say something interesting he talks over the top of them with senseless jibber jabber!1 point

I have actually bought 4 bikes from Damerells in a year including my boys scoot. I went up their on Tuesday and the salesman hugged me . To be fair they made the best trade in offer to, which helped. . Think I will have to keep the Hornet for awhile as the Mrs raised an eyebrow this time, plus I think this one will be a keeper. I have actually narrowed down what I want a bike for now, rather than trying to find a job for a bike, if that makes any sense. As you can tell I am prone to over thinking things.1 point

Just changed my insurance over to the Hornet, getting a little excited now. Picking it up at 10:00 am tomorrow.1 point

What a great Summer that was! I was in Swansea and married to my first wife! Working in the stores at Neath General Hospital Monday to Friday, and then working at a Petrol Station on Jersey Marine on the weekends! I had to do the two jobs because the waste of space first wife jacked her job in a week after we got married in February! But I did get a week away in June though.......unfortunately she was with me complaining all the fucking time! Anybody know where this pic was taken? So where were you? What were you doing? And what were you riding?1 point
