Just done the first 300 miles on my Hornet so halfway to running it in and the first service. For me it is interesting in comparison to my CB500. It genuinely doesn't feel any bigger at all but the brakes are much better and the front dives less. It copes with my fat arse better than the 500 in terms of suspension. I haven't used full power mode (which really only controls the throttle response not actual power) or full throttle yet but I have had it up to 6k revs and it is pulling hard then. It wants to go. It is very easy to bimble around on and very mild mannered until the revs get up. I notice my hands and chest are colder without a screen or handguards, it has the same heated grips as my CB500 had and I am using them more now with no handguards. It is surprisingly quiet at 70mph, no buffeting as such. I have read that is to do with the shape of the headlight and front bodywork, maybe. I love the sound it makes. The Honda Road Sync Bluetooth app is awkward to use and does not work well with an iPhone which is probably Apple being barstewards. I can't see me using it in the future unless the App improves. I don't really care as the setup I had before with a usb charger and Quadlock works just as well on the Hornet as it did on the CB500. The mudguards on the bike are rubbish. I have already got a Fender Extenda for the front. Not sure what to do about the back yet, I have little faith in huggers. I can see me sending more money to SW Motech for a rack and pannier frames, I really miss not being able to carry anything. After the scratch experience with the CB500 I am going to stay away from Bagster tank covers and bags. Thinking about a tank bag that is ring mounted but am going to do a little research before spunking any money on one. On the whole I am really pleased with the bike, seems made for me, there really isn't much that I want to improve apart from the mudguards.8 points

Yep forgot about that The CB500 was always sitting between 80 and 90 mpg on the dash which was a little optimistic the Hornet is currently sitting at 67 mpg on the dash but I am sure that will go down once it is run in and I can play with it a bit more.4 points

I’ve just acquired an MT09, and was seriously considering a CBR1000. Really nice bike but the dealership wouldn’t let me test drive the one I was interested in as I have a few points on my licence The 125 was a nice bike but I only used it once every few months to keep everything working. My wife was initially enthusiastic about doing her CBT but as with many things, never got around to it. I have aspirations of a third bike, possibly another Indian, and lack of garage space dictated the 125 had to go…4 points

I only have an on and off switch, stopped or flat out. I’ve never had that trucking along at a reasonable pace thing everyone else has. Consequently I work feckin hard then stop. This morning its a stop4 points

I know Sherlock...I'm just sick of dealing with warranty stuff...it's either they will tell me the battery is fine we tested it..or they'll just stick in another crappy battery in it...it's took almost two hours the other day to give it a charge so the engine would crank over...and I was dressed and ready for a little bimble...4 points

Unbelievable. My sons being students n all that have been keeping an eye on their electricity consumption and it’s been spiking once a day to around the 7-10kw mark for an hour or so. Sometimes in the middle of the night and sometimes when they’ve been down here and the place is empty. They’ve been trying to resolve the issue and have had a large list of tasks to perform. Forward three weeks… It’s the wrong meter. They’ve been paying someone else’s electricity bill.3 points

Yep , I've had prep the day before my op before now and also had to wait six weeks another time.3 points

Depends on the waiting list and hospital policy. In the UK they usually aim for within two weeks and land up under 6 weeks. BUT the policy can say a preop is valid for three or even six months (so long as someone asks the patient if theres been any changes) and that depends on the individual hospital. I understand the backlog Covid has caused has royally screwed it all up. I know nothing of how Spains hospitals work but I’d guess they aim for the same - soon as possible under six weeks.3 points

I can see that, of course my experience is from getting off a almost exactly the same, in terms of size, bike with 47 bhp to one with a quite a bit more so for me if already feels quite a bit faster. Once run in I am sure it will be shockingly quick for me.3 points

Butt plug reminds me that yesterday I had the epiphany that it would be possible to stop using UK/EU plug adapters and simply chop off the three pins replace them with EU two pin plugs. Amazon.es has a very different idea of what a ‘plug’ is, bet thats skewed mi algorithms3 points

Log burner mate………it’s very therapeutic cutting up logs with a chainsaw, stacking them and then making a fire up. Proper hunter gatherer stuff rather than an effeminate pellet burner.3 points

It's fine mate . There are those on this forum who consider Honda ownership to be gay, whereas the sensible peeps here realise that they are great reliable bikes2 points

So tell me again how much this Yank POS set you back Marcel? You could have made your life a lot simpler by buying a nice Goldwing! Or does the "in crowd" you run with not approve of Hondas?2 points

Got a long-time friend w/ (2) eMtn bikes that I've had the opportunity to sample a coupla times.....that sparked me into upgrading my 'Goose with an hydraulic front brake...had to be 1 of thee most cost-effective bike upgrades I've ever done....$59 delivered to my door, for a bike that now can put you on your head (brakewise). I'm leaning more towards a fat-tire ebike with a mid-drive as they do pretty well in the snow, which we get a fair amount of every year.2 points
