I’m under no illusions about the practicality of this bike but my god look at it. Just stunning and that green straight from the 1970’s. The sound they make is something to behold. Perfect for me, if I ever come into enough money to have a toy collection this would right at the top of the list. Come on then what floats your two wheeled boat so to speak. Not something you would necessarily want to ride everyday but something that just ticks the box.5 points

Weird fucking day, got a phone call this morning telling me my other uncle has sepsis which it doesn't look like he will recover from. Dangerous time of year for my male relatives. On a positive My Boy, who is 19 with several issues, as a result of his past and other stuff started his 3rd day on his McJob, which he likes. Doesn't sound much but believe me for us it's huge, to think he can and probably will become a positive member of society and finally make a life for himself. Something that has been in doubt for years. Been playing bikes to cheer myself up, been a roller coaster of a day.4 points

It really is bike dependent there are so many variables to what is right or wrong. Take a 125 for instance that will live in the upper parts of its rev range because its of a small capacity where as a bike with an engine at the bigger ends of the scale will 1. Rev lower and 2. Not need to be revved as hard to get the same results. It all too depends on the types of engines that the bike uses, single, parallel twin or v twin and a 3cyl or 4 cylinder they will all make their peak torque and power at massively different points of their respective rev ranges. Long and short is change gear where your bike feels sweetest and don't take any notice of shit like that3 points

It's actually a NX650 (Dominator) made to look like one of the XL600 Paris-Dakar bikes . He made several versions of them ................ https://www.bikebound.com/tag/andrew-greenland/3 points

I really could go for one of these again, I had one but mine was nowhere near as nice as this. Been gently modded by the looks of it. Love the nod to the original R500 with the indicators in the handlebar ends. Lovely old aircooled engine with good handling, brakes, electrics and a half decent gearbox, best air cooled boxer to live with. What's not to love. Mine was this colour, mine had 6 owners before me and none of them gave a fuck about it and it showed. I gave it up as a bad job in the end, just couldn't afford to get it running right. I have a photo of it somewhere on a old HDD I will try and dig it out.2 points

The Spanish Police take no prisoners. I remember when the Catalans held a separation referendum a few years ago, the Police were pretty heavy handed then to. That was quite disturbing actually.2 points

Not a problem with the scoot, can't over rev it, can hold it at high (for a single) revs though, which is not a good idea to do for any length of time, and at all times it is in the right gear.2 points

I take all his videos with a pinch of salt , he recently tried to convince us all that Goretex is shit............. Oh yeah, I'll stick to goretex mate while you just carry on getting wet2 points

I am seriously tempted by this engine guard and bars from SW Motech, https://sw-motech.co.uk/collections/engine-guard/products/front-spoiler-honda-cb750-hornet-22 But I don't know if I really need it, probably not. I am also tempted to get a screen but I am concerned it will mess up the airflow around my head. Currently the bike is pretty quiet at 70 mph and I don't want to lose that. I have a SW Motech rack and panniers mounts on order, when they come I think I will stop there, although I do have a Lubeman chain oiler on the shelf.2 points

I wouldn't lug a bike anyway......I'm more interested in revving the shit out of a bike cos it's good for it.2 points

5252 rpm is where the torque and horsepower curves cross on petrol engines. Between there and 6000 rpm the torque will start to drop away. Saul is correct about avoiding lugging the motor but between 4000 and 6000 rpm is the sweet spot.2 points
