I hadn't done these for some time, but I wanted to check out the Tom Tom Rider Android app in different environments. I found it better to use than Google Maps......but screen visibility is still difficult in bright sunlight. Standing it upright made no difference either. The weather is still really weird here.....23C today and I got quite warm cos you don't get up to much speed on these canal paths. The view out onto the main road to Castril! I found some water..... This is where the canal goes into a bridge ......not that there's any water in there of course. And I reckon I could have BOTM in the bag with this one......if there's any justice. But of course, there isn't any justice where I'm concerned.......so I'll just have to be content with making up the numbers! It's a Man's Life on a modern CB500X!6 points

Feeling like crap today, I might have a bit of a bug, had dinner yesterday and it was hard to keep it down. I am now sat outside having a hot tea like an old woman. Every sip feels like it upsets my stomach. After arriving home I got a big broom and got to work on the back of the house, between newly formed soil from decaying leaves and olives there were three bin fulls of stuff, got too tired from doing that so do think they are related. Will sit a bit having the rest of my tea then watch tv, but might wash the bike in the afternoon if the day brightens up a little. I do plan on going for a multi day ride sometime next week and you can’t leave on something like that with an already dirty bike!6 points

Really bored today so decided to waste some time on the lathe, i wanted to make some kind of funnel for topping up the two stroke reservoir on the Beta because when your finished pouring you always get a glug as you take the bottle away and it spills all over the place i could use a normal shop bought funnel but wheres the fun in that LOL. This is it made out of some Nylon screen guides i brought home from work And this is it in use because its a snug fit it doesn't need holding and the end of it doesn't dip into the oil in the reservoir now what else can i do today LOL5 points

Quad lock doesn't make cases for my phone and I don't trust the alternative "sticker" for generic phones. For now, the zip ties do what is required of them.4 points

No i find it a great bike and remember that every time i ride it, Only three things i could criticize about it is the seat height, the seat itself is a bit uncomfortable and it's a noisy bike as in wind noise. The only reason i would move it on is because i just don't have a use for that type of bike if i'm not going to the motorcycle rally's with the wife or riding any long distances as i get all i need from the trail bikes. The old Africa Twin i have been keeping to do a nut and bolt restore on if i ever retire but that will remain to be seen lol4 points

A bit late in life for me to start going to a rally. There is the Bikers Rock & Blues festival near here, seems expensive, and I don't like Rock or Blues.3 points

We used to have some great bike shows in the past and i have fond memories of them but all gone now, Motorcycle rally's are different to bike shows now as they don't usually have a bike show anymore or a wet T shirt competition LOL. The show that Pete went to the other week wouldn't be called a rally here. Rally's here usually involve camping, live bands drinking and much merriment of like minded people who ride bikes. I didn't attend many this year and if it's the same next year i may well get rid of the CRF1000 as i have no use for it in fact i think i put it on the road this year to attend one rally with the wife.2 points

I had them on a bap for lunch, really liked them. They did stink and made for interesting for a couple of hours, luckily the weather was nice and I rode with the helmet open most of the time2 points

It is compared to the 1970's yes but most motorcycle rallies here are £30 for the weekend and you don't get an indoor show in fact the Dragon rally next year is £35 for one night EDIT sorry the dragon is £30 it is 35 euro's they list the price in euro's as well because a lot attend from Europe2 points

I rode there the last time I went, it was a cold, wet miserable ride there and back. I much preferred the BMF show at Peterborough.2 points

Had another good run on the Beta today it was a 75 mile loop local to where i live, Last night there were eight riding but this morning two played their Xtreme cards and backed out because the ground was too wet another retired after twisting his knee on the first lane, we had only ridden a quarter of a mile from the start point LOL. So that left five of us all with similar bikes and skill level, it was very wet muddy and slippery with deep water in places the perfect conditions for interesting trail riding. We did have a few showers of rain but nothing torrential like we have been having, On the hill tops it was misty with strong gusts of wind making riding the ruts harder to stay upright than it normally is. There were no other incidents on the ride and everyone managed to stay upright all day but i did witness a few close ones much to my amusement. The ride was flowing nicely all day so no time for photos i will have to see if anyone else on the ride took any. The seat was still comfy and i arrived home with no monkey butt i'm still impressed with it but keep thinking of how comfy the standard height one must be and can see me changing it for one in the future. I hosed the bike off on the way home ready to change the oil. All ready for the next outing now.2 points
