  3. I had a pass out today and was looking forward to some more action on the little WR. I had been scouring the maps for the past two weeks and decided to do a loop up around Stroud to include some lanes that I hadn't done for over 10 years and also have a look at some new ones , by that I mean new to me. The first lane was a boggy slip-fest so that got me right back into it ................ The about a mile up the road I went to investigate a new lane but found a padlocked gate blocking my access, as I rode back past the farm a woman stood there glaring at me. So I guess we'll call that a 'no' then Down through Cromhall and onto a lane with a lot more solid surface so not so much sliding around ............ I had a bit of roadwork to do now to get to Breakheart Hill. There were signs at the bottom stating 'road closed' but I couldn't see how this affected the trail so I pushed on . This lane is a great climb but we don't get to do it very often as there is not else around there to ride. There was just about enough grip to get up there today without stopping ............... Moving on from there I had to make a diversion as the road was closed at Dursley Wood. I did a couple of short lanes and then came to this at Woodchester. This was new lane to me and is classed as a road but there were warnings at both ends for car drivers about not following the sat-nav as you will get stuck

  5. Well on Tuesday I think I may have had a steal of a job. So the jag kept going in to reduced performance, had been for months but having an icarsoft lr2 computer I would just clear the code and carry on as normal, well it got to the point that it would go in to reduced performance at the slightest hint of throttle so something needed doing. So I figured I'd buy the intake manifolds and injector seals to do the job and over a couple of weekends I'd have it done, long and short of it is I never found enough time what with skye always wanting my attention when I'm home so I thought I know I'll speak to a mate of mine see if he would do it for me. He said yeah no bother £300 which I was over the moon with as it is a pig of a job. So anyway I dropped the jag off at his last Monday and he finally finished the job off about 45 mins before I turned up to pick it up. 6½ days it took him to replace them and that's someone who works on cars all day every day. The job should have cost me minimum of 800 to 1000 quid, so to say I'm over the moon at the price is an understatement.

  9. It may be hard for you to understand but we don’t always have snow, not all the roads are cobbled and it is possible to ride out side of the city, I actually live on the northern edge of the city close to coastline and much countryside. By the way I saw contrails yesterday, I think I caught them on the GoPro so you may want to wear your special hat when I post the video.

  10. Only two today , most peeps that I met today were fine I usually just ignore the angry sort unless they persist, if they do I engage them in conversation and usually find out the the wankers haven't got a clue about rights of way so I give them some education on the spot

  11. I dropped down into Stroud to get some petrol and a sandwich for later and then rode on to do two new lanes near Stonehouse, this one had nice 'leafy surprise' ................. In the next village I came to I had to stop and take a photo of this. Best Xmas decoration ever imo The next lane was new to me as well and this turned out to be a glorious Cotswolds climb .................... As I turned off the road towards Edge I saw this really great war memorial, someone has gone to a lot of effort there.............. The next lane to get back up to the main road was only short but steep and the rock steps were covered in mud and leaves. I thought it might give me a bit of trouble but the little WR sailed up it without any fuss Next I went down the valley to Througham and on to ride the great lane at Througham Slad and the climb up to Edgeworth ............. and then it was time to stop for a sandwich and coffee .............

  17. Just back from the Health Centre after getting it cleaned up and bandage changed. All looking good, the incision isn't red any more and my groin is regressing back to it's normal size. Change of plan with the staples removal though......half of them come out on Monday and the rest on Wednesday. Had to get some stomach tablets as it's been feeling a bit queasy and I had diarrhea overnight! Medic says it's not related to the surgery though.

  19. Indeed, in fact if you are mentally challenged enough you might keep a partially assembled bike in your shed that you will never ride.

  20. Bikes are so last century, not enough mental challenge

  22. The next lane is well known to me, I have been riding it for over 35 years. It's called Bull Banks and used to be where Mitsubishi would test there 4X4's, the forestry vehicles had been in there recently and churned it up ............. I rode down to Duntisbourne Abbots and rode the ford to Duntisbourne Leer. No photos of this I'm afraid as the locals don't really like you to ride it plus it was pretty deep today After a bit more roadwork I got onto the MacMillan way which was pretty shitty with some big puddles in places ............. Medic for @XTreme please ................ I rode the lane past Kemble airfield (yes it was open @Sir Fallsalot and got onto the Fosseway to get home . I stopped at the ford and had a look but there was no way I was going through that today ............ More of the Fosseway was ridden including the tarmac parts , you can see clearly from this that it's a Roman road .............. and the last lane of the day was Star Farm where I managed to make a complete f*ck up and stalled it twice All in all it was a great day out and this little Yamaha is really impressive as a trail bike

  28. Took some friends down to Southampton docks this morn as they’re off on a cruise to New York. Set off early expecting the normal M25 bum hole traffic but came straight through. Dropped them off, parked the car in the multi-storey and now sitting on the ferry to see the daughter.

  29. Roses and Quality Street tins are traditional Xmas things for us. But over the years the metal tins have been changed to plastic tubs and you get a lot less chocolates in them now.

  30. That’s completely not what I pictured as a tin of roses and peanuts

  34. I have pass out tomorrow so I will be heading north on the little Yamaha to do some lanes that I haven't done for over 10 years and also some that I haven't done before at all. This will be my first time out since the RAC debacle so I'm hoping for a drama free day

  37. So Miss America has developed a judder in the clutch, I just did an oil change (easiest option first) and the oil smelt pretty cooked so it might be that the plates are fooked. I'll see if the fresh oil makes any difference next time I ride it.
