My apologies. I have been busy all day driving around to get Ducati parts in some of the most horrendous driving conditions I've ever encountered . I went from somerset to Kenilworth, then Wildmoor (nr Bromsgove) and then up to Bridgnorth. Nearly 8 hours all in and then I get home and see that feckin ginger thing again ...............7 points

I've got no plans for 2024. There will be a couple of little rides around Portugal for sure, North and Tras os Montes, and Alentejo and Algarve. I´d like to commit to a bigger trip again, like France up to Germany, but can't really commit to it yet. I am failing in motivation to spend Europe money doing big distances though, and still not have the feeling of riding Morocco's dusty mountain roads and deserts, deep inside that's all I really yearn for motorcycling wise.6 points

Feeling pretty grumpy today (and not one of the 7 dwarfs), as I had heartburn all last night, which stopped me from sleeping. Antacid tablets didn't sort it out either! Ironic that I didn't suffer over Christmas after eating all sorts of rich foods, but after one of our home cooked dinners! I think that this afternoon I will mostly be dossing on the sofa, listening to Prog Rock radio!6 points

There used to be a Mari Carmen in my plant in Galicia. She was very nice. How far has she slid down, though, now living in a desert being submitted to that abuse5 points

i wouldn't say they are taboo subjects here in the UK but if allowed to be discussed on the forum the subjects would soon dominate the place and it being the internet would turn ugly pretty quick, my thing is its a bike forum there's plenty of places that politics and religion can be discussed away from here and is one of the few rules that are on here. I've never had a problem discussing the subject person to person unless the Irish are involved. i remember an Irish woman going absolutely bonkers in the local pub to me many years ago she ended up punching fuck out of some guy as he tried to get away from her and when he got in his car she smashed his windscreen with a rock as he drove off. and the question that sent her into this rage was are you protestant or catholic she replied with what the fuck has it got to do with you and then went batshit crazy. Our Christmas tree is a 3ft optic, fits on the widow ledge, no room for a tree on the floor in here. Tree and lights back in their box's, bet the bastards won't light up next Christmas.4 points

Funnily enough, they are not taboo subjects in France. People can have a right good discussion on either subject, agree to disagree and then break open a bottle of wine and have a drink together with no hard feelings mostly. I think that a lot of the problems in the UK now are down to people who "don't do politics"! Also too many people don't "do" critical thinking. Their opinions are spoon-fed to them from whichever media channels they frequent. Maybe things would improve if there were no taboo subjects? When I started my apprenticeship one of the first things our trainer said to us was that politics, religion and football were out of bounds subjects in the training school!4 points

I , at 71 and a pensioner, really like the idea of a Honda 125 Trail that I can use to explore the river, the roads around here only have 90 degree corners and my riding buddy got cancer so it's just me now, however the river where I live is quite something, the mighty Murrumbidgee, 60m wide, 4m deep and 1600km long.4 points

I think If a subject turns up and is not what the forum is based on which becomes the dominant subject or where things get ugly then yes, with politics and religion you can see it's been a topic that causes problems since the internet began so its an easy one to ban. Some of the things as you mention are relatively new so we are still able to have a decent discussion with some piss taking without someone threating to turn up at your door and kill your family.3 points

No river near me, i lie, there is one 2 mile away, 10ft wide, 2 feet deep, not quite on the scale of yours I do have a (occasional) riding buddy, but most of his trips are too far for me, he will go to North or South Wales, or to the Lake District, stop somewhere overnight then return late the following day, so I just ride around the locality.3 points
