Went exploring in the old Mazarron mines today on the mountain bike. Not that far but about 60% of the 30klms was off road so plenty of effort needed. Loads of gravel. Legs felt a bit wobbly when I got home. All the buildings have fallen into disrepair but plenty to snoop around. Quite spooky really. I bet @XTreme will wank himself into a stupor when he sees the deprivation and total devastation.7 points

Another day of work.....but not as manic now I've got the server migrations done. And tomorrow it's back to Baza Hospital cos the wife is having tests done. While I'm waiting I might look into the Hernia Dept and frighten the shit out of them that I'm coming back!7 points

Sunday dawned and the sun shone so I decided to go to a bike and car show that I saw advertised on one of the Facebook pages. I rode down to Alguena which isn't that far from Alicante and found the bike show consisted of one guy doing wheelies and endos along with shredding his rear tyre, the sort of things that teenager do before they get their licence. I didn't stay long I made my way back along the N332 from Alicante which runs along the coastline pretty much all the way home. Interestingly enough I took my time I was in no rush I actually stuck to the speed limits, short shifted and never went over 71mph. When I got home my bike was showing 4,4 litres per 100 kms fuel consumption which is a little over 64mpg not bad for a 1200cc machine, I filled her up this afternoon ready for tomorrows ride out with my ex pat friends, I brimmed the tank and it only took a little over 16 litres I had dome 310 km and with a 23 litre tank, which meant I had another 100 kms left in I was impressed. I have to apologise for all my spelling mistakes I try to go through everything I write but being rather dyslexic means one or two do get through.4 points

It would be a nice day for a ride here, sunny, 11c and only a slight breeze blowing. But the bloody papers keep saying that snow is returning in the coming week.4 points

I have actually been to Passchendaele but not on that day, just stepped in a puddle that was deeper than it looked.4 points

Signed up for a ride out with the TRF this Saturday on the dog so thought I'd stick a new front tyre tonight as i was like Bamby on ice last Sunday, it's got a Michelin tracker on there now so should help this weekend, then i remembered i have a winter rear wheel with knobblier rubber on so thought i'd stick that on and noticed the pads were low so swapped them, after fitting the winter wheel i remembered why i haven't used it for about a year, bloody wheel bearings gone, checked my stock and have some there so that's tomorrow nights job it's costing me a fortune and i haven't got to the start point yet, ride it better be fucking worth it3 points

She lives 50 meters high next to the atlantic in a flat with shit portuguese 80s isolation and windows, and minimum sun exposure. It's a very humid house and was starting to get black mould all over. 4 days of dehumidifiers cleared the air and after a week the mould was gone. If you switch them off for 12 hours the humidity goes to a steady 92º in winter, and after a week the walls would be in the same state. Granted it's more rain there but that just means you have to be intensive and constant in taking humidity off.3 points

Sofia has two modern ones and there’s hardly any change in electrical consumption since they’ve been on, they did however eliminate all moisture.3 points

You need another dehumidifier, Clive, working full time after a few days you'll get a nice dry house. It'll smell different once you start to get the moisture out of the walls.3 points

This bungalow too has loads of roof insulation, don't know about cavity wall insulation, windows are double glazed too. I do not leave any clothing or bike gear laying about, those are stored in what used to be our airing cupboard, pipes for the central heating pass through it, so it is dry and mould free in there, Think it will be a constant battle with the mould, something we will have to live with. In other news......got the insurance renewal for the scoot......it has gone from (roughly) £65 to £100...3 points

It sounds like it could be condensation, in which case it’s a matter of controlling the humidity within the property rather than looking for an external source of moisture. Using a paint with a mild fungicide in it might help control the mould (eg Dulux Mouldshield) but it won’t stop the condensation, if that’s what it is.3 points

The housing association guys have been here a couple of times and painted on some evil smelling stuff, it is applied in 2 coats, the mould dissappears for around 2 months, then returns, as said, we have the windows open when the weather allows, to get some ventilation through the bungalow, one guy said leave the heating on 15c for 24/7, but that's unaffordable for us.. During the late spring, summer and early autumn the mould will be much less of a problem.2 points

We have a extraction fan in the kitchen and bathroom, they are linked to the lights, turn the lights on, fan fires up. They have spent quite some time in the loft, found no evidence of leaks.2 points
-
It's airborne mould, they have done a examination of the roof, it is watertight, no sign of any water damage in the loft. We have the windows open in the effected rooms as often as possible, but obviously it is limited by the weather.2 points

Same here mate....I think I was more prone to it than most as I've been on ski's since I 4y/o....sort of a junkie for the snow. Riding in ALL sorts of weather, especially winter, can be a rather sobering experience in finding out just how BadAss you think you are @ Riding!2 points
