Mixed cold and showery this morning. Went to the meet before the off and there was a grand total of 2 of us, me on the Hornet and Martin on his Guzzi V85 the rest of them had very good reasons for not coming, I think the main one was they are puddle dodgers and couldn’t possibly get their bikes dirty I had thermaled up with several layers so all was good apart from not wearing winter gloves, but even so heated grips saved day grips saved the day Sone great views from Kitt Hill big skies from being high up On a side note my daughter was shocked to hear I was going to Kitt Hill today, turns out that where all the kids from her college go to shag on a Saturday night. Who knew Nice new small Triumph Some lovely old bikes there and refreshing to see them ridden despite patchy weather. Not my Hornet. Quite like the tail tidy though My favourite bike of the day. R90s. Just beautiful. After leaving there we went back to Liskeard and the Checkered Flag Cafe and bike shop. Great cafe but there was some sort of bike club meet there. All patched up called Widows Sons or something similar. Bit sad to my eye but live and let live I suppose, they were friendly enough even they were a bit old to be a bike gang. Oh and after the inevitable clean up.7 points

Only managed a couple of hours out on the bike today as the wind was absolutely horrendous . No enthusiasm for photos or even the slightest hint of a description.5 points

Not bad on Friday, showers or longer periods of rain on Saturday & Sunday BBC says. Daughter paid for the caravan, if we did not go we would not get a refund, so we will go anyway, it will be a change of scenery.1 point

It was okay when I went out about 9am but by 11am it was time to head back home.1 point

Interesting to see how that CB500X looked bigger than the old CB900......cos that was considered physically big back in the late 70's. And that looked like a D14/4 Bantam there!1 point

So has anyone invited him to join? We need a replacement for the boredom section.1 point

The assist only works up to 25km/h, so above that it's all down to you! I guess that it also depends what you want out of it. Personally, I want the exercise, but sometimes need a bit of assistance up the hills or against a headwind, otherwise I'd just use my non-ebike.1 point

Not really worth of a ride report, but yesterday met up with @Sofia in Alentejo by the big lake. Pleasant enough to be on the bike on the way there. Waiting for her to show up since we were coming from different places: and presto! Alqueva lake is at the absolute maximum level of water I've ever seen it, I doubt it has ever gone as high before. We left the Triumph for a little and I took her on the GS through an easy trail near the water, I think the bug to ride a trail bike has bitten... there might be a video later of that. Today we rode back home, except the majority of the ride was under quite heavy rain, my phone safe in my pocket and under my rain pants mean there's no pictures of it, but quite the amount of water came down. All warm and dry at home with my jacket still dripping down a bit.1 point

It would be, but I’m planning to sleep in the hills near the trail entrance, to then do the interesting bit in the morning or when fog disappears and then make it to Milan for dinner, taking smaller roads or the motorway depending on how the day goes.1 point
