  13. Last night i decided to change the swing arm on the Dog as there's a few holes in it again and i'm fed up of welding it. I 've had a good swing arm kicking around for about 5 years when i took the old one off i remembered why i hadn't changed it sooner, its because one of the bolts is seized in the collar it goes through, when i discovered this years ago the bearings were good so i fitted a grease nipple in there to keep them good. I decided to bite the bullet and cut the mounting bracket off but before i done that i had a look how much a new bolt and collar is in case its some ridiculous price, but not too bad the collar is £9.48 plus vat but the bolt is discontinued Parts 11 and 16 i'm after So the job is to at least save the bolt i put a shit load of heat on it but no joy so ended up welding the collar to a steel plate so i could hold it in the vice and with a large power bar it moved and eventually came out When i'd finished last night and sat down to order the parts i needed i discovered the collar is also discontinued fuck twat fuck i now have a dead dog in my garage if only i knew someone with a lathe

  15. Just been out for a bimble to St Austell, nearest place I could get a driving licence application for for my Eldest Daughter, plus had to pick up the dogs meds and get mothers day cards for the kids to give my Mrs. You never believe they were 20, 18 and 16. Fuck me that town is a shit hole. Haven't put the bike away yet so may pop out again before I get out of my thermals. Tis cold but dry here today. Rest of the weekend looks shite. Filled the Hornet up with Tesco Momentum, I think I may be buying into the hype but it does seem to make a difference, or I may just be going mental. Thinking while I was out, do bikes really need quick shifters? Never a thing back in the day but everybody seems to be all for them now, I just don't see the need. Track days and stuff I could understand it maybe but on the street, really. I can see the farkle factor in the my bikes better than yours stakes but FFS. Oh and I have decided to get rid of that Viper Helmet I got, noisey POS. I may give it to my Boy it has got to be better than the chinky lid he has.

  33. I can remember seeing Devonport empty at knocking off time and practically every bike out of there was a CB250N Super Dream on L Plates. It was like wacky races as the Dockyard employed 10's of thousands at that time. Lots of bigger Hondas and Suzukis in this area also around that time. I remember a chap I knows brother bought a Sportster back around 1983 and it was the first Harley we had ever seen in the flesh. Don't know why really, must have been a reason for the lack of manufacturer diversity but nobody told me.
