Bloody hot here. It only bothers me emotionally, as I'm not used to not seeing in the garage, that my bike is 300km away as I wouldn't want to go on a ride around here today. I hate the sort of weekend traffic we get here up north, plus as the first proper warm weekend all the bikes are out and in a frenzy. Will go out to lunch with little brother and a friend, do a little bit of work now before that, then it'll be a lazy weekend.5 points

Well it's mostly a shake down run ,manage 260 km...I tried to go inland thinking it would get warmer..but the temp kept dropping so I turned around...sweet spot was about 15 km inland ...when I left the temp was 13 c ...kept climing till it reached my destination to 20c..I was sweating by then...bike ran great..the puig windscreen is a big improvement..running at 130 kmh visor up and hardly any buffering....here's a few pic....one for Six30 to do magic on and tracks of a monster moose..just for reference..I wear and 11 size boot..4 points

So, the Controle Technique (CT) for motorcycles comes into force in France from 14 April 2024. In true fashion it has been poorly implemented. Many test centres have not trained their testers on the bike roadworthiness tests. Bike specific test equipment has not been identified, let alone installed in the test centres! Many of those testers that have been trained are complaining that they're worried about dropping bikes or not being able to get heavier bikes onto the testing platforms unaided. Although the French government are trying to justify the tests on safety grounds, one section is what they call the Nuisance tests, which include measuring the noise and exhaust emissions on the bikes. And it seems that the noise limits proposed are pretty tight! Obviously, bike groups are up in arms about this and are calling for a boycott of the tests. However, some insurance companies are saying that they will insist on seeing a pass certificate from the CT before insuring a bike. This has also incensed the bike groups, as this is not required for getting car insurance! Anyway, lots of protests have been called for today (13 April) by the bike groups and I think that it's pretty inevitable that there will be things getting torched and possibly punch-ups with the police! I'll be watching the news with interest!4 points

I reckon it's Pete's wife. It's all part of his plan. Pete: Look love, I asked on the forum who's the person stood behind me and encouraged me to press on with the forum, and they all said it's you! Pete's missus: oh, that's lovely. Why don't you go and buy yourself a new motorbike? Pete: oh, well, if you insist, love. This is all part of his game plan! He's so transparent you could read a newspaper through him!4 points

He's chosen to be anonymous! I'm not complaining.......having his name all over the place is not exactly conducive to good business.4 points

I had a couple of hours out on the dog this afternoon there was a light misty rain in the air but not the kind to get you wet, it was a bit worse up on my mountain and even worse when i came back And there was fresh meat to stock the butchers shelves everywhere, although i feel fresh meat will have a different meaning to some on here. The dog sounds like the farmers quad so when i stopped to open a gate they all came running4 points

'Bout time to turn off the pellet stove this morning....nice when we get a 40 lb. bag of pellets to last 4+ days....instead of a day & a half. Likin' this pleasant weather when we can just open the windows to let some fresh air through the house. Won't be long before I gotta install the AC's for the summer. Highest electric bill so far this year...$108. Can't really bitch about that-- When I lived on the other side of the state....was paying $250 a month pretty regularly.3 points

Went to a spring fair at a local vineyard earlier, but we didn't hang around too long because it was too hot in the sun. 29C here this afternoon. BBQ tonight, but we'll probably not sit outside for too long, as the mozzies are also about!3 points

It's been a few years that they are saying that the Bikes will have to go through theses inspections. I suppose that the centres need new equipment to make the tests on Bikes, but each time I take my car to its inspection, I don't see any new equipment. And when talking with the technicians they say that they don't have the proper training (yet). I think that this was the main reason for postponing the Bike inspections to 2025.3 points

As you say, tuck in! Northern Portuguese cut of beef. Chorizo entree: Another flip and it was perfect, but Costa was in a frenzy while it was being sliced, all hell broke loose. Luckily we kept our cool and a good meal was had, except my dad almost chocking to death on an apple slice. Fucking apples! Half drunk now, but half sober.3 points

Busy day, work meetings but very close to home, two hours of that was friendly talk. Amongst that was a vidit to the mechanics to check on Sofia’s Passat, then late afternoon a stop by a shop to buy a new helmet. Then home to have a great dinner with my brother and parents. overall, except for the heat it was a good day. Didn’t have to speak Spanish except in one single conversation.3 points
