Beautiful weather today....decided to ride BEFORE I handled some more yard work Rolled past the Cemetery rd. onto Clark creek rd. for a few miles.... it's a shame the road doesn't get too close to the creek, mainly cos it's fenced off due to mainly it being some farmer's property. I've learned that keeping it in PA level 1 or 2 conserves on battery life while still maintaining a consistent 15 mph w/o too much effort. I didn't quite make it to where it gets a bit steeper & climbs away from the creek more for better views....that'll be for another ride when I have more time & battery life. All in all, a good ride for some exercise in this glorious weather...away from all the BS I used to have to put up with on the left side of OR! Now to race home for a bit more yard work before the Mrs. & I cooled off @ the local watering hole only 3 blocks from home.6 points

I don't....using the front brake only....just like on the Mongoose. Gotta get the lead outta my arse & hunt down a linked brake system, which I seem to recall seeing on Cyberbike's site. Shifting is also somewhat cumbersome w/ the stock paddles on the RH side....usually just ride around in 9th or 10th gear....the throttle evens the score. Boils down to the fact that I've got material for @ least 3 projects that I could do workshop reports on....been too occupied w/ blasted yardwork & Riding!4 points

Forget about using pumps for measuring or adjusting tire pressure if you want to be precise, particularly chinese crap like that. Get a good quality tire pressure gauge with a release valve, any motorsports online shop will sell them. Use any pump to overinflate the tires a little, then adjust using the quality tool made for that exact job. Something like this:4 points

Actually, Bob, I've just checked and it has Keihin carbs on it! CV's. I'm hoping that the problem is just the float height and I don't have to remove the carbs again, as they're an arse to remove and refit!3 points

The problem I’m talking about isn’t with the actual needles but the o ring that sits in the seat. They fail and let the fuel past so that the float level rises. If you’re doing the measure with the tubing and you find the level is wrong replace the o rings with viton items as they’re not affected by the shit fuel we have now .3 points

They are Mikuni's Bob, but I've fitted a carb rebuild kit to both, so they have new float needles. I operated the floats with the float bowls off to make sure that the fuel flow stops when I lift the floats, and that all seems to work OK. The floats themselves appear to be ok too. The float needles seem to move ok too, without sticking, so I'll put the float bowls back on and put some tubing on the float drains and see what level the fuel goes to.3 points

My grandad rode a motorcycle once. An army BMW, trying to get from the base to the nearest town pharmacy, he rode it through a fence and into a field instead That, as far as I know, is my family's motorcycling history. My other grandfather was very happy to upgrade from walking to work into riding a bicycle to work when he was young.3 points

Thanks Saul, it was a close run thing though, we didn't have long before he'd have been born either at home or in the car, once we got to the delivery suite it was 12 minutes from the moment she got on the bed to him entering the world3 points

It's louder than the o/e but not offensive like a FMF pipe. I'm very pleased with it even when fitting it tested my patience a bit3 points

This is unheard of......me starting a thread in Workshop! The reason is that I got my air pump delivered this morning....... I was expecting something not much bigger than the battery ones, but this was a decent size! Couldn't be bothered to look at the instructions, but I still got it working in seconds! I've even got a vid of it in action! Glad I got this cos the old pump is obviously misreading......front tyre was too low and the back one too high. Sorted now, and a lot better than the physical effort of inflating them manually! €50 well spent I'd say! I've got to check the car as well, but that's enough physical exertion for today!2 points

It's 21c here at the moment but it didn't feel that warm when i took the bike up the hill to dry it out after washing it, although i only had a T shirt on so that didn't help2 points

My father used to ride bikes, I have very few photos of him at all and none of bikes. He had a thing for BSA's but my domineering mother stopped all of that before I came along. He still rode a Honda C90 to work when I was a kid, old S reg in the UK so a 1977 I believe, he got a new one every three years or so until then but the S reg was the last. He picked up my 1981 CB250N from the dealer for me, I could see he was besotted but nothing ever came of it. He taught me alot about basic mechanics and looking after my bikes. Don't know anything about my Grandfathers and bikes, never really spoke to them about it, didn't really know either of them very well to be honest. Too big a family and I was one of the youngest so I was way down on the time with Grandad sort of thing.2 points

You aren’t a biker, you will never understand. The best bike for you would be a Honda Goldwing, amazingly capable machines with absolutely no soul whatsoever, perfect for the turkey neck brigade.2 points

Going out to dinner with a couple of friends tonight, it looks like rain tonight so on´t want to take Maria's soft top as the top soaks up, decided to take the 320 even if it's in need of a proper service. Who needs brakes anyway? so just for @Saul: One main beam bulb was out, so got two and just fitted in 10 minutes, two Osram bulbs for 5€ Then checked the stoplights since I had a warning on the onboard "computer", as soon as I pressed them the warning went out, will look into it. Marvel in the sound of a rotting exhaust And since it'll be parked outside for a while, also turned the alarm on, which surprised me by working perfectly after many years switched off! There you go, happy motoring out to dinner!2 points

Get Wankstain to explain it, he will spend three days telling you how to unscrew the float bowl but never once mention the screws, screwdriver or float bowl.2 points
