Unusual to be that dead, hope something not draining after buying a newbie. Off to Manchester for a fancy dress birthday party soon, and it's raining. Dropping Mandi at the airport tomorrow dinner time as she's off to Copenhagen for the week.6 points

Walked my dog today, had a good talk with my bro in the morning over breakfast, then rode my bike through heavy rains on twisty douro valley roads, met up with Sofia, fixed some englishman’s tire puncture on a GS, then rode some more, had a great time over a great dinner, and now setting in bed while rain pelts the window and bikes are safely parked in a dry garage.6 points

After our little walk down to the boulangerie to get bread and have a coffee, I got Mandy's Bonneville out of the garage and put some tubing onto the float bowl drains to check the float heights. Seemed that the fuel level was too high in both. Adjusting them was a PITA! Trying to make fine adjustments by bending a metal tab is prehistoric! The only way to bend the tabs was to remove the floats and float valves, bend the tab, put it all back together and check. Rinse and repeat multiple times until the levels look vaguely right. It wasn't helped by the high winds and rain showers here today. Anyway, I think I'll try to run the bike, once all the fuel spilt over the engine has evaporated! Maybe tomorrow, if the weather is OK.5 points

Tried to pull the truck outta the carport this morning to finish filling the bed up w/ yard debris....battery was completely flat....put a meter on it to see how bad it was...Flat 00.0- dead as a door nail. Drove down to La Grande & scored a battery @ WalMart for $140...finished loading yard debris to take to the dump tomorrow morning. Tonight is date night....Tequila is on the agenda. Definitely Riding on Saturday...probably farther out on Clark Creek.5 points

My only interaction with Carbs has been tickling a couple of Amals in 1971 and 1972. Obviously I didn't do it that well because the POS Triumph and BSA still didn't start.4 points

It's a strange one hes got a mate with a bit of cash by the sounds of it who owns a few CRF250L's amongst other things, Gary was having a few electrical issues with the serow so his mate said give me the serow to restore and you can use one of the CRF's. Gary doesn't know if he will be getting the serow back once restored or keeping the CRF the CRF is registered in his name he said it don't matter to him which way it goes because it's not cost him a penny3 points

It did sound like an XT660 too, Clive. I didn’t expect him to have such a high voice though!3 points

Today may well have been the last ride of my Sixties as rain is forecast for the weekend. Incredible that I've ridden through my Teens, Twenties, Thirties, Forties, Fifties, and Sixties without suffering Death and Dismemberment! In fact, I've never even managed to break a bone or get laid up in Hospital. And I've never totaled any of the 67 bikes, or made an Insurance claim. It seems that nothing went according to the script......I'll have to try harder I suppose! Anyway, this run was to Juan Cortes in Baza to get my centre stand fitted! So here's some stuff from the showroom.......and I have to say that the Rieju Aventura was spectacular! It really ticked all the boxes........except for one! The engine! In case you weren't aware, Rieju are a long established Spanish company who in the past had mainly used Yamaha engines! Now they're using fucking Chinkies! So they've got this stunning looking machine......and then they fuck it all up by sticking a POS Chinkie motor in it! And here's the end result of the trip......centre stand fitted! And it was fitted for free as a birthday present! I also got hugs and kisses from the young lady in the office as well. Passed hundreds of bikes going in the opposite direction on the way back.....all headed to the MotoGP in Jerez! Much as I'd love to be living the dream back there with you guys......I think I'll keep suffering it out over here!3 points
