At least you're OK Rich......but I doubt your missus is going to be too impressed! Even more so because you've just had a new addition to the family. One thing I'll say, and it's up to you if you take it on board! I've always believed in fate, and that things happen for a reason. I'd take this as a warning and seriously think whether you should continue to do this trackday stuff. If you were my age then the pressure isn't so much.......after all, the words "Life in Prison" doesn't exactly put the fear of God into us these days. Your circumstances are very different......so I'd think long and hard about it.4 points

It's been slightly misty but not bad, but I've not had the best start, it's pissing out oil somewhere and I didn't realise and it coated the rear tyre and yeah I've ended up binning it.... not much damage apart from the front brake lever guard and rear tyre needs replacing. Apart from that all is good, I've hurt my thumb and right shoulder is very sore. Now just need to investigate this oil leak and fix that before I decide to do another day3 points

The Mrs. & I are out for a ride today as the weather looks like it'll cooperate. Kinda stoked as I received an email yesterday from my youngest boy that he & his wife will be here by the 27th from NM as they're doing a camping roadtrip visiting places like Grand Canyon, Crater Lake, Mt. Hood etc. ...haven't seen him in 4+ yrs! So my Saturday will be spent twirling spanners on the XR in re-assembly mode....& then kicking on the SuMo to bring it back to life. The goal is to have both bikes Turn-Key ready for his arrival as this will be most of his inheritance....that way he can enjoy them NOW & not have to wait until I kick the bucket & have to wade through the red tape BS, taxes, etc. that are sure to ensue w/ the way this world is evolving......on another note: Definitely gonna have a spin on the bike today.3 points

It's only cosmetic damage bar the oil leak, which I now believe was there before today as it tried spitting me off at the exit of gerards at the start of the 2nd lap then at the hairpin it was skipping and jumping about just trying to slow down then it did it again slowing down for gerards. But shit happens, I'll get it patched up and get out on another in due course3 points

Took the Dominator for a MOT a few mins ago and was disgusted to see I'd only covered about 300 miles on it since last year. As Mandis been so busy we haven't been out like we used to and I'd bet the TDM and Tracer have only covered a few miles. But the domi's the embarrassing one as it's my local hack. For shame.3 points

Weather not looking great....a little better for Sunday...notice I had a bad vibration coming through the bars on the KTM the other day at 120kmp ...I'll try balancing the front wheel sat and see if that cures it...tire has about another 5000k before it needs replacing..2 points

I have found the reason i ride the bike has changed over the years, for most of my biking life i didn't need a reason or a destination to ride i would just go and see where the front wheel took me, now with the road bike i seem to have to have a destination to get it out other wise i don't bother. I still go out just to ride with the trail bikes as i still feel like i want to go out on them hope that don't change.2 points

I understand what you're saying Bob but it was a 93 mile round trip along allsorts of A and B roads to get to Bude and back. I find half the thing with a bike now is having a destination to aim for and if it has a friendly cafe and some bikes to look at all the better. Plus it was good to be out with my mates and youngest.2 points
