This is the last of this kind of forum, Pete had a unique gift to make forums like these and put a lot of effort into driving them forward, proven by their decline once he hands them off to other people. Let’s hold this one together for him until the plug gets pulled and not let it go to hell in a hand cart.11 points

For the record, I’m not going to ask for a video link to the funeral. I’ve offered help, and Scott says they’ll reach out if they need anything.9 points

I saw this the other day and this morning I was going to post it up on here because I knew it would make Pete laugh out loud. However, then I read Pedro’s post and it seemed pointless and irrelevant. However, now the sad news has sunk in I’m starting to remember Pete’s sick sense of humour and I think he’d appreciate it anyway. Here you go Pete, you daft Welsh twat.9 points

I don’t have admin access or control of the domain name, software and hosting, without that I can do nothing in the long term. I could set another place up at some point but we would lose everything here, as I say, this is not the time to think about this.9 points

I for one would like this place to continue if it's only for the memory of Pete...have no idea about the cost for operating such a place...but if anything you need Buck or Bob...that is if someone takes the role of admistrator...9 points

Without Pete driving it I’m not sure it can continue, anyone can set up a forum but not everyone can run one effectively.9 points

A week ago he was riding the gay moped exploring abandoned shit and indulging is secret liaisons with midgets. I also know he was looking at getting a new bike. Now he’s gone. Just shows how fragile life is. My thoughts are with his family, especially his wife, this really is a shock. I know he would expect me to say this so I won’t let him down. Wouldn’t have happened if @Six30 had got the mod gig.9 points

Yes, Phil. I’ll do my best which is to send Pete a whatsapp, Scott has his phone I think. I have thought of calling but don’t think I’ll impose.8 points

Ride In Peace my old mate....you've always been good to me....I'll never forget when you called me @ home some years ago....Peach of a Human!8 points

@Pedro once things have settled down a bit for Pete's son would you be able to ask him what happened, i'm sure everyone here as well as myself would also like to know8 points
-
I sent Pete a Whatsapp, same as ever, when I knew he got taken to hospital, and he replied. Then the next day, yesterday I asked how he was doing and there was no reply. I didn’t bother him because he probably needed the rest and I knew his son was flying in. Then last night I started to worry because he usually replies, so this morning I asked if he was better and his son Scott replied to me saying Peter had passed yesterday. I asked for no further details. In times like these I choose to leave people be and managed their affairs. Scott is now probably dealing with Pete’s company, his brother, Allison ( who is a jewel), and I prefer to not add to that burden. from the timing I assume his funeral is either today or tomorrow, I can ask for you if you want to attend.8 points

That is terrible news. Thanks for finding out for us Pedro. Properly gutted to hear it.8 points

We can cross that bridge at a later date, now’s not the time, I just wanted to ask everyone to hold the place together in respect to Pete’s legacy while we all do our respective grieving.8 points

I'm just stunned...must have been worse than he was leading us to believe...I was expecting him up and about in a few days...I know it was only virtual but over the 20 some odd years that we've been messing around on bike forums...really does feel like I've lost a family member....rest in Peace Pete...my old friend ..8 points

Fucking hell that’s awful news, so unexpected. I was just about to post up something funny, taking the piss etc, clearly this news changes everything. Condolences to his wife and wider family. I assume his wife contacted you @Pedro? If so and you get any further info on funeral service etc please keep us informed. I haven’t known Pete for that long really, certainly not as long as many of you, however he was such a distinctive character and I always enjoyed our meet-ups………apart from that abandoned shit, he can fucking rammit!8 points

@Buckster I'm not a religious person but I'd be happy if you'd say a prayer for him and his wife if you go to church today.8 points

Terrible news indeed i have just come on the forum and found this out a big shock , rest in peace Pete one of the best7 points

Fred just gave me the dreadful news. I saw Pete’s posts on FB and like most thought that he was over the worst of it. All very sad.7 points

Ive been out all day and only just got back home but had that sinking feeling when I saw the thread title. Ive not been here very long and not known him anywhere as well as you all did but I have to say he came across as a great bloke, really sad news. Im a member of a few bike forums and this is by far the most entertaining one. It has a very much more personal and unique vibe, and even though there is a lot of piss taking its obvious that some of you have known each other for a long time. I hope we don't loose it, I'm not much at IT but if its a case of funding to keep it going I'm happy to pitch in. RIP Pete...7 points

Any help I can give you just ask @Pedro . I expect I feel like many here in that I feel a bit useless , I love to go to his funeral or do something for him but can't do a lot from here7 points

I’ve sent them this: Phil from Wales and all the people from the motorcycle forum have you guys in their thoughts. and sent a link to here. I think it’s enough with having the man deal with me on top of everything else. If any of you want his phone number (Pete’s) that’s all I can do for now.7 points

Speechless, thought these stent ops were routine now days. So sorry for Alison but no doubt the older son will have her move close. (Scott)? condolences to his family.7 points
-
I've met the guy when he was a kid maybe 20 years ago, we said nothing but a few words to each other back then, I am not a person he's close to. I really don't feel confortable asking him questions just out of curiosity, Pete was in hospital after a heart attack so the medical specifics of it aren't really important to me. I have asked him to give Pete's wife my number, in case she needs a friend to talk to over whatever it might be.7 points

Indeed, he was great at making these run, had great pleasure in providing a place for a few people spread all over the world to meet. And in fact no other forums have the same kind of vibe, we did share our dislike for a couple of members (I'm glad she's gone, he wasn't) but all he really wanted for the place was to keep it alive. I know nothing of internet and computers and servers, but I know you do, so now that you're running it please remember that there's a few people here who would like to help with costs if there's any involved, I would.7 points

Thanks for the offer Pedro but to be honest I’m not sure I could get along anyway, I was just thinking it would be nice to know when the service might be so I could spend a bit of time quietly thinking.7 points

I have contacted Bruce and he sends his condolances. @Pedro could you send Alison all our condolances.6 points

I wonder what he'd be saying right now if he was here to respond to all of us moping around the place. He'd probably be calling us all soft cunts and to get on with it6 points
-
Unfortunately heart attacks often happen in close succession, he had multiple stents put in which is an indicator for congenital heart disease, I suspect he went into arrhythmia unexpectedly after they moved him out of ICU, that’s the most common cause of death after a heart attack.6 points
-
What a shock .. thought he was on the mend , gutted as I’m sure we all are , rest in peace Pete , my internet buddy6 points
-
Yep let the dust settle a little, there will be plenty of time to plan and sort stuff out.6 points

We started on whatsapp instead on normal forum messages because he wanted a live video chat to figure out how to take the sidecases off on his GS1200. He knew they came off because he saw the dealer doing it, but those two differently coloured levers were a step too far once by himself6 points

I don't want this place to go anywhere, I think for petes legacy we should do all possible to see it doesn't go down the pan. I'm sure there's a way of doing this6 points
-
He will still be working wherever he's gone either that or he's gone to live that retirement dream on his super yacht6 points

This truly is shit news! I thought that things were looking up when he was moved out of ICU. Unfortunately there seems to be a lot of it about! Mandy's old boss was chatting to people on the Saturday and died of multiple organ failure on the Sunday. We don't know, but we suspect from Sepsis. To go downhill that fast! Anyway, I'm concerned for Pete's wife. Not only has she lost her husband, but could also be in a very precarious position with remaining in Spain, if that's what she wishes to do! Hopefully the boys will rally around and make sure that she's looked after. RIP Pete.5 points

I'll second this statement as I'm sure a few others would too, I think we owe it to Pete to keep things going5 points
