When i first had the CB1000 i rode it home from Canterbury and thought i'd run it until it hit reserve which it did at about 220 miles on a duel carriageway about 5 miles from my house turned it to reserve and the tank was empty had to get the wife to bring a gallon to me. When i got home and had a look at it someone had removed or lost the long pipe off the fuel tap so it was always on reserve. I had to get rescued another twice by the wife before i finally fixed it5 points

Caught the 09:19 train to Newton Abbot this morning to collect the CBF600. Uneventful journey on a pleasant GWR intercity type train. I don’t know the right name for it but big green fecker will do. Arrived at 10:53 and was picked up by the seller, Cornish fella called Rob. Drove past Channing Wood Prison to Denbury to pay for and collect the bike. I am chuffed with the bike I got for £1100 with a full set of Givi boxes, heated grips, 31k miles with four services in the book. Everything working, good tyres, never been dropped and sounding sweet. What’s not to like for a work hack. Filled it up and rode the 62 miles home, pretty uneventful really. The bike went better than I expected with a fair bit of zip when you get the revs up, obviously no competition to the Hornet in terms of power and handling but still pretty good nonetheless. Very stable in windy weather and pretty comfortable. Of course as soon as I got home Chloe was desperate to go out for a spin so I headed up to Damerells to get her a sausage sandwich. Unfortunately the cafe was closing just as we got there at 3 pm but I placated her with some Pringles and a tin of pop. Then headed home so another 40 miles on the day. The bike came with this enormous top box, would have been right up Pete’s Strasse Which I took off before we went to Damerells. Chloe has informed me that when she passes her test she wants it. Her perch passed the arse ache test so she has given her approval . I really enjoyed the day and am pleased with the bike for the money. I also love the old school clocks but do miss having a fuel gauge and it has been years since I’ve had to count gears but it all came back to me quickly enough. I have some obsessive cleaning to do but apart from that all I have to do is ride it. Good day.4 points

I've got a stupid little muscle between the pelvis and spine which flares up every now and then. Can normally keep it at bay with a few stretches etc but still causes grief at times. I'd still rather have this than some of the spinal probs some of my mates have. Hope it settles down soon Clive. Nice walk in the sunshine this morn followed by fitting a pair of shocks for a friend. Sun's now gone and waiting for Mandis return from Copenhagen although she'll prob want to plonk her arse down and do bugga all. Might get the Tracer out for a look over as I'm off to the IOW Wednesday, but then I might not.3 points

Hope it’s better soon , my back goes from time to time , fucking agony , I fell off a roof when I was younger , done a disc , had an op that sorted it , but have to be careful … lifting heavy weights especially , when I go for a piss I have to lay down .3 points

It's not all about mileage ...but unfortunately at the moment with one week at a time for holidays I haven't got much choice....can't wait to be retired and have more time to spend on the road...should be soon enough wyll I'm still capable of physically doing it...3 points

Notice something with the Harley crew Saturday...when we got caught in a few heavy down poor...most of them were sputtering when coming up to a stop..backfiring and stuff..they had on rain socks on their air cleaner ...didn't seem to be working...figure mine would be doing the same ...but no...the air intake is just above the lower fork clamp..it's like a ram air almost..must be the way it's designed..there was no sigh of it ingesting water...3 points

Besides the gps acting up the bike preformed like a champ...total millage I think is around 4k in 5 days...got caught in two thunderstorm ...the cruisetec tires being almost due to be replace ..I have to give a 9 out of 10..never felt any sigh of slippage...bought a little clip on bubble shield that clips on to my lid...that really worked well in the rain..30 bucks..I'll be spending the day washing the bike...she's a real mess..funny ...spend three days or riding in that area..not one bug splater...soon has I got about 100km from the Canadian border..it's like your running into a rain shower of bugs..not to sure what's up with that..I figure the American must spray something to kill the bugs ..3 points

I was offered a op years ago, and Doc said that after it i could possibly be off work for 6 months, I could not stand to loose a possible 6 months of wages. In the past I had months of just a aching back, this is the worst it has been for a long time. Pissing ain't a problem, it is getting off the lav after having a dump that's problematic. But that said, it is a bit better today, not getting the stabbing pains................I have hidden all the sharp kitchen knives.2 points

I was checking out some seat options from the vendors..I think your just wasting money if you're trying to find something better has a better seat for the challenger...the stock seat is just perfect..they nailed it...it breaths and yet waterproof..wipe it and it's dry...super plush and comfy..500 plus miles yesterday and really no butt fatigue felt at all...was talking to a sale rep from saldeman..they had one on display..fancy stitching with perforated leather...I burst his bubble when I ask what about the rain...don't your butt get wet after you pull off your rain gear...lol...2 points

It would be a good first big bike for her, great to see she is already thinking that way, does your wife hate you yet?2 points

It was knackering but I had a great day yesterday, felt like a proper trip out type of adventure. It's the first time I have been on a train in years and to be honest I bloody enjoyed it. I hit it off with the seller too, ex BMW bike tech and a pretty interesting chap to boot. He was selling the bike as his wife died recently and his life pretty much revolved around his two Jack Russells, so he has bought a caravan to holiday with them. I asked him why he had a Honda rather than a BMW, his answer was reliability .2 points

My back was fucked up after I broke my leg and it healed slightly shorter, an osteopath sorted it for me, deep muscle massage and then realignment of the vertebrae did the trick, it was pretty bad as I had had it for a couple of years and it took a few sessions to fix it but after that I haven't had any problems.2 points

Had this bad back for what seems like ages, so i have done very very little, apart from taking my meds twice a day, been nowhere, done nothing, I did make a effort to take wifey to Asda a few times, i have not even looked in the shed, or done anything in the garden (much to Bucksters delight) .....so nothing to report... I just hope my back is better (and the bleeding weather is too) for the weekend after next, we should be away near Scarborough for 4 days, not going if back is no better....2 points

I don't know why but there is something I really enjoy about going to collect a new bike from somewhere far away. Last one was Norwich, before that was north Wales ( that was a Sunday night in Jan, fecking frozen), im in Hampshire. I have bought a bike from Edinburgh ... but got that bought down in a van. That CBF looks lovely, hope you enjoy it.2 points
