  1. Yeah, not half bad for a guy w/ 5 thumbs & can't run a smarty-phone to save his life! Being a CAD jockey since '92....does have it's advantages.

  15. If she's anything like my daughter that's a scheming smirk, she's planning something. Patch lead arrive and, Got one off eBay before I went as the rabbits have had fun with the original. Can't suppose the seller would have known it was dodgy. Original back on and awaiting chain and sprocket kit. Noise from the chain was down to worn links where O or X ring seals missing and worn. I'm guessing they didn't like one of the chain sprays I've been using.

  20. So today after church I headed out to get some new summer gloves, my short leather gloves are a little warm on days like today so I wanted some that were better vented, I found these in 3XL which were perfect for my big tall person hands. I needed to test them out so I headed out of town, I got them at J&S on the south side of the City so I headed south and made my way into the borders down the A68 before turning off and heading to Coldstream, about 70 miles. I looked for the Coldstream Guards but they were hiding so I went to the CoOp and got a sandwich and drink and headed to the park to sit in the sun and enjoy this culinary delight. While there I founds evidence of the guards. I sat on a bench overlooking the River Tweed the centre of which is the border between Scotland and England. I also had a nice cigar after my picnic and sat and watched Kingfishers, Herons and Otters down in the river, unfortunately my phone camera wasn’t up to the job of taking those kind of photos but it got me thinking of getting a decent camera. Then I started thinking of heading back.

  21. Blood transfusion day. I was checking back through the CBF’s service history and its last oil change was at 28k and it’s now cracked 32k. Shouldn’t be a problem as the service intervals are 8k I thought until I checked and the last service in the book was done in 2019. Anyway I dropped into Dameralls today so picked up a filter, oil and crush washer. It was £69 fucking quid. Every fibre in my being wanted to say stick it up your pipe but I think more in shock than anything I just paid up and left. Won’t be buying it there again. Anyway did the deed tonight when the sun went in. Why are the sump plug and filter always done up with fucking gorilla strength FFS. It’s lucky I have the proper Honda filter tool as I genuinely don’t think I could have gotten the old filter off without it.

  26. The problem is she wants to upgrade it to a Red CBR650R, which isn't on the cards. She told me today that I should get one because I deserve it . I am totally happy with what I have but she has plans.

  28. It was pretty nice but had been well detailed. Definitely see it was used, plenty of age related stuff, plus 08 with 19K on it I thought £4000 was strong money for it.

  33. Just been out for a cheeky 75 miles bimble on the CBF with my Shadow. Partly to try out my new screen and partly just to be out there. Dropped into Dameralls for an oil filter and a few bits. Obviously Shadow had to have a Sausage sandwich then got all unnecessary because boys in Dameralls. Did crack a smile for once. Chuffed to bits with the new screen massive improvement over the stock one and with the deflector much quieter as well. Actually hear the bike keys rattling at times and stuff in my tank bag moving around. Much more road noise as well but that was obviously masked by wind blast before. We then set off for Bodmin Scooter Centre as my boy needs a new rear tyre for his Ped. Then home. Gonna wait for the sun move so I can service the CBF. To Scorchio out there at the moment.

  42. It is obvious that Fred has never been here because the sheep don’t run away. After heading over the tops I started towards Gifford and was greeted with views towards the Firth of Forth and the Bass Rock. Also something familiar to Fred. More of what you all want of course. I have a picture of my Thruxton R at this same spot a few years ago. Then I headed home via the takeaway. I was a good afternoon ride.

  43. I wanted to ride the Lammermuir Hills as it has been a while and the last time was well before I fitted the new shocks. I headed over some nice twisty country roads and through Duns before turning off and heading for Longformacus and up into the hills. Miles of single track roads with little traffic and a few cattle grids and many sheeps. This was looking back from where I had come from. This was where I was headed. The views were spectacular as always. That is Watch Water Reservoir in the distance.
