Once I got Bulford I set off across the Plain again to get to Tuckers Grave where some of my mates were camping for the weekend ............. Once they'd set up there tents we sampled some of the local cider ........... and then I rode home at dusk down a couple more local lanes ........... It was a long day , I was out for 13 hours but the bike was an absolute joy to ride . A great day out6 points

I have a weekend of trail riding in Surrey at the end of August so yesterday I decided to go have a look at a route to take in on the way there. For anyone that doesn't know there is a thing called the Trans Euro Trail (or TET for short) , which you can download routes to ride all over Europe. So yesterday I did a section from Basingstoke to Bulford which I will do in reverse when I go to Surrey. So I rode tarmac down to Basingstoke apart from one small section of gravel where I stopped for a coffee .......... Then made my way to the first lane just off the A339, most of the lanes were old routes used many years ago by drovers ........ and lots of covered ways that are old routes as well...............5 points

Some of them have restrictions imposed to stop damage in the winter months ................ Then I got to one of my favourites but unfortunately it had a temporary closure imposed so I had to make a detour ................. So I made my way to a further part of the route which is the glorious track on top of Walbury Hill ............5 points

Yes , but I'm polite to them unless they start with old 'you shouldn't be riding that bike here' . In that scenario I question the twats knowledge of rights of way . Nine times out of ten they haven't got a clue , so I inform them in a very condescending tone.4 points

First ride with any off-road yesterday Fred. It was much more manageable , less weight and now it's approx 2 inches lower so I can flat foot it with my right leg. It was a joy to ride it on those easy lanes and even in the ruts I saved it a couple of times where previously I would probably have hit the deck4 points

Eventually convinced myself to go out on the bike this afternoon i don't know whats wrong with me, the wife's is away and i'm home alone took me until 14:00 before i got out. I wanted to take some photos of some of the local lanes to me to add to the TRF's green road map (GRM). Had my usual spin over Eglwysilan to warm up and stopped to chat to a local lad for a while, think i might have talked him into joining the TRF, after numerous messages from his missus he headed home glad i don't have that problem. I head from Eggy down to do the lanes around Pentyrch i like these as there's no gates to open and close Love the lanes when the trees close them in from Pentyrch i took the back roads to Peterston-super-Ely and then picked up a nice unpaved road over to St Nicholas and hopped on the A48 to St Hillary to the first lane i wanted to take photo's of for the GRM. This used to be a sump smasher coming down it as it had deep washouts on it now its a nice easy lane but a little overgrown I went down it and then back up, the photos are from the bottom up. The top of the lane starts off on some overgrown tarmac, when i entered the lane at the top i went around a right hand bend and the middle of it was covered in a ridge of mud hidden under the weeds which had me off in the bloody stingy's from here i went up over Cowbridge common to a short lane near Prisk the other lane i wanted photos of, it's always overgrown in the summer but I've not seen it this bad before The entrance is there honest I tried to battle my way through it But the mighty XR was defeated i was going up hill and the summer tyre offered no grip at all on the surprisingly soft ground at this point probably only 100 yards in i turned around. The lane is wide enough for a 4x4 so easy enough to turn around on This is the exit from the lane at the top a rather posh house next to it A gentle ride home form here picking up a few unpaved roads on the way i was out about 4 hours and covered just over 50 miles in excellent weather as usual wish i'd got off my arse and gone out earlier though.3 points

Great ride home from work this morning, across Bodmin moor with the sun burning off the mist, beautiful. Only 32 miles but a great way to start the day, breakfast and bed.3 points

Since we are now able to change the picture on the front page, we're restarting Bike Of The Month with a vote for all three months in which we had no competition. You can now submit one picture of your bike on a ride, taken anytime in May, June or July, in horizontal format. As an exception, I will also accept submissions of a second picture if you wish to honour Pete, and as such if you've got a picture of him you'd like to have on the front-page for a month, we can accept that as well. They will all go in the vote, I'll consider the last picture you submit of each genre. On the evening of the 29th, I'll close submissions and start the vote.2 points

You may have noticed that me and Bob are now admins. We have a lot more access, I'm currently figuring out how BOTM works, it looks like Pete coded it in HTML, once I have that figured out I will change the suzuki picture for one of my Harley.2 points

What a load of bollox , they should have made a modern day Dominator (NX) instead of just changing the name of an existing model2 points
