No sooner had Shadow and I got back from Davidstow last night then I got a message from my mate to say a few of the Fowey lot were going up to Damerells. So off we went again but on the Hornet this time. We met at 4Turnings garage at 6pm where my mate Andy turned up on his new bike, a 2015 Triumph 900 Thruxton. Very nice indeed. Also Gary on his 1973 Bonniville and Martin on his V85TT. We rode over to Bodmin then up the A30 to Indian Queen’s, stuck at 70 as Gary can’t see over that speed due to the vibes. Place was packed when we got there, 100+ bikes I would guess Nice survivor GS1000E I like this Oil Head RT, Very nice Victory, I think they generally look way cooler than Polaris’s Indian replacements. Still have an itch for a Blackbird After Damerells Andy suggested that there was a bike meet a couple of miles down the road to a Cider Farm. So off we went only to crash a private party and were asked to leave. Walk of shame.9 points

If it is any consolation, my 26 year old is looking forward to seeing me this month and thinks my bike picture from Sunday is "wicked". (I was definitely robbed in BOTM)6 points

I’m thinking of moving to Davidstow airfield. Spent 6 hours up there in the last two days. Firstly spent 3 hours up there on Wednesday teaching my oldest daughter to drive, who I am going to call Sunshine in comparison to my Shadow. Sunshine is such a joy to be around, but she is going to take awhile to pick up all aspects of car control. Now Shadow, ever competitive, was not happy I spent three hours with Sunshine. So yesterday’s riding lesson had to last the same time. To be fair to Shadow I hardly saw her, she came back every half an hour or so to touch base but soon headed off again. She is doing well up and down the gears confidently with good clutch control. I’m going to get some cones and do some CBT style manoeuvres to get ready for her test at the end of August. I took a tarp and laid it down so I ended up chilling and listening to podcasts for hours. The question of lowering the CB125F has gone away as Shadow is happy with her lowered seat. She says she feels much more confident and feels she is not sitting on top of the bike anymore but part of it instead. If she is happy that is good enough for me. After her three and a half hours and 35 miles, of course she had to do more than Sunshine, Shadow needed feeding, apparently feeling faint So a 45 minute ride down to Fraddon for a Maccies. I have come to the conclusion that 80 + miles two up on a CB125F is not fun, our combined weight is close to 23 stone, a lot for 10hp to drag around. The bike does it without fuss but it is a suboptimal set up. At one point Shadow was annoyed that another 125 passed us and wanted to know why. I explained because of my heavy ass,6 points

Thrown in the deep end tonight but it turned out ok. Had a message in the week as there was a Lifeboat event on the quay. 200 years celebration. Anyway my group was asked to sing a few songs after the Vicar did her bit. We rocked up to a packed town quay, bit more of an event than just a few songs. Went well so all good in the end. After there was a band called Johnny and the Lips. Apparently Johnny was the wizened up old bass player who was in the Commitments from the film. Brilliant band all the same, brass section and all. Shame I had to come home to go to work. Working Sunday night as well but don’t have any other plans yet.5 points

I think it is because it was originally built on common land and it returned to that after the war. I think they held motorsport their in the 1950's even hosting I Grand Prix. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davidstow_Circuit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Davidstow_Moor5 points

Very cool to see her progress. I’m surprised you don’t have anything similar closer to home, though. Shadow and Sunshine? Did you use to be a hippie?4 points

No sign of a bridge there now. I remember seeing some film clips of one of the races there years ago. No safety precautions back in the 1950's3 points

Bloody van wouldn't start this morning so i decided to take the bike in and as always it bloody rained on the way home but it was nice filtering through the traffic. The van issue was a connector on the starter motor wasn't pushed all the way home after it was changed last week and had worked itself out all fixed by the time i got home.3 points

Roasted chicken legs with potatoes: Very nice simple salad and steak dinner: Comfort food, Sofia's leftover frozen vegetable curry with freshly made mint rice. There's now a very authentic Pakistani restaurant near my place. I love it. Chicken bahari (the red one) and mutton curry. @Sofia's Pork roast, Alentejo style3 points

I'm surprised that they're allowed on that airfield, usually in the UK you'd have some busy body shouting 'you can't do that here mate'3 points

Looks like it could actually be a woman, from Algeria so it is unlikely to be trans, they are a muslim country, trans are killed there. Could just be very butch with some biological intersex elements. (no, I don't mean a cock)2 points
