Decided to start a thread on the ongoing maintenance and repairs for the Beta First entry was from some work last night when doing some maintenance i noticed the rear shock mud plate has been rubbing against the swingarm I've heard this is common on the KTM's but not read any reports on it for the Beta's The two scuff marks above the wear mark are where the air box is hitting the swing arm when my fat arse is bottoming the suspension out I cut and shaped a bit of Ali to fit where the flap touches so that will wear out instead of the swing arm I bonded it on with Tiger Seal the stuff used to stick car trim on good stuff I sprayed it this morning with some stone chip for colour mainly because it's what i had kicking around not too worried about the finish it will be covered in crap next time i'm out with the mud flap fitted and look at my shiny new non gay tyre3 points

One of our transits with the wet belt engine broke the belt at around 50,000 miles but that's not the worst of it, as the belt wears the bits of it end up in the oil pump strainer block the flow and totally fuck the engine Ford put a new engine in one of our vans free of charge because of it. I was looking to buy that one off the company but even with he new engine and some of the other issues we've had with them i decided i wont touch it.3 points

i'd be more worried about the gearbox in it... it is a stupid idea having a belt running through the oil... cant remember time wise but ford have lowered the mileage on what time to get belt done think its 100k now , no way i would go that distance with out getting it changed, fella i know sells late vans , any with wet belts he gets changed before he puts em up for sale, none of em ever come back for failed belts its always dpf or adblue problems which is another stupid idea3 points

He's now 12 and has had two major liver operations to take cancer out. Only has a third of the original liver left, so the vet is not keen on putting him through unnecessary anesthesia or operations. The librela helps him be ok for most of the time, but it's been a month today since his last shot so it's wearing down. When I'm here at his house, I take him out on the car to go to the forest or a park every morning regardless of anything, he's pampered and spoiled for being such a good boy. When I'm not here, my brother is, and being his favourite human there is nothing else he likes more.3 points

Probably, but i have found since looking at this that almost all bikes with the mud flap set up like this suffer from it. If you take it off then the rear shock gets destroyed with all the crap hitting it so its the lesser of the two evils i expect.2 points

So probably only a quarter of the route consisted of off road (lanes) Yes there is a chance to open it up on the straight bits where you have good vision but you always have to be mindful of horse riders , walkers etc.2 points

You really don't want to carry on down that lane through this in your Ford Fiesta............. A few more lanes were done in lovely weather if a bit breezy ............. When I got to Ubley Drove there were a couple of guys on CRF Rally's who were sawing a tree that was blocking the lane ............. I rode on up to the top and then came back down again to get to Harptree where a stopped for a pint ...............2 points

When you say 20 lanes, what distance do you think you went off tarmac? Some of those look really nice! Do you face many people or are you able to open it up a little on the faster bits?1 point
