The 2714cc North London Garage Record Breaker The early days of the motorcycle were characterised by rapid and often extraordinary engineering, engines were made with eye-wateringly large swept volumes and then often mounted in chassis that were little more than re-purposed bicycle frames. The motorcycle you see here is an exact re-creation of the 1909 North London Garage record breaker, the original no longer exists so an enterprising Czech engineer named Pavel Malanik set about collecting images of it before embarking on a mission to build a new one from scratch. There aren’t many people in the world who possess the skills and tooling necessary to machine a motorcycle engine from a block of raw metal. And there are even fewer that can do it after looking at some 100+ year old images and making a few sketches. Pavel is one such person. His first order of business was machining the crankcase from a block of aluminium, he decided to begin with the engine as it’s by far the most difficult part – especially when it has a capacity of 2714cc and needs to be capable of running at speeds in excess of 90mph.

Yet the 1981 my mate has has no welding at all. It's got a few spots on the body but the underside is remarkably good.

I had a 2.0S but never got hold of a 3 litre.

Been a few times but the last one I went to was 2013…………hideous.

After all these months in such dry conditions.....it's Finally raining! After repairing a flat rear tire on the Mullet w/ a thorn-proof tube, I'm waiting on a new HD workstand designed for Ebikes....gotta have plenty of hands to remount the rear wheel back in the frame, so that stand should make life a bit easier...

Persisting down but was going stir crazy so had to get out. Hour in the rain and my water proofs still do so that’s encouraging. Stopped in Cornish Market World for a warm up and posh coffee. Like fucking deliverance in here surrounded by fat toothless wonder.

I had a 1.6 Mk11 as well clive , but my first Capri was a Mk1 1300 , that was bloody slow.

Had to call in the Harley mechanic...tractor has got a funky idle...when it first starts...not a steady idle....I'm thinking the egr valve but not sure....it's all electronic now...

Had a GF in high school who's Dad owned 1 of those....pretty sweet ride.

From the bits I could gather it's the space station name...romulus....they recovered the original alien from the first movie that weiver blew out of the air lock in the first movie ..

A classic ....but personally I like the second moving best..."Aliens" ...the following movie after that are mostly flops...I'm sure this new one will be one also.... Yes that alien creature was something...lol...

I remember watching the first film in my late teens, got to say i had a few sleepless nights after, whoever dreamt up that creature had a hell of an imagination or were truly disturbed.
