  1. Over to the left side of OR in June for the 15th annual Hangar Dance @ an old friend's place in Boring (sister town to Dull Scotland)...for real, look it up. He's a CEO of a helicopter service w/ 3 Bell Ranger choppers @ his own FAA approved property along the Sandy river near Mt. Hood. This time of year, he's been slinging Christmas trees for the last 32 yrs. A coupla live bands & plenty of food & a car show top off that 3-day event. Always great to see a handful of old friends from back in the day. Hopefully, the misses & I will also make a trip to MN to see my parents & brother...as well as visit her relatives in ND before that awesome party.

  3. I had to go to the other side of the city for a training day, I’m not sitting in traffic when I can make it a thirty minute ride on the bike.

  7. The sound of the gopro has always been crap, too much wind noise and not enough sound from the engine/exhaust. I've decided to record the sound using my phone and merge the image and sound afterwards. This is the result of the trip to work on a foggy morning and the trip back home...

  9. Only have two scheduled so far. Hope add some more as the riding season gets closer. One; a route I've don e many times including Reno, California coast into Oregon and back home through Salt Lake City. Always fun. Two; the West Virginia down to Tennessee, Deal's Gap and back home via Oklahoma route. Have done this a few times before as well and it's always fun. Any of you wankers wanna come over and join us? It'd be fun to have a foreigner along to laugh at. And you'll get a fully guided tour of the USA for the low, low price of free. West coast ride is about 3,000 miles / 7 days and the eastern portion would be about 5,000 miles / 10 days. Could do longer as far as days goes if required.

  11. No it wouldn't - you'd be fine. It's not as hard as it looks. A few beers at night and you'd be good to go again the next day. I could also do a ride that doesn't leave Colorado - much less distance to cover, etc. But hotel prices in this State are very high for substandard rooms. Nice rooms are like $400 a night. It'd be nicer to get out to Utah and cheaper / better rooms with great riding.

  12. My wife's company has 3 hotels in Anchorage, so I've gone there with her a few times. While she works, I just drive/ ride around looking at stuff. It's pretty barren outside of the bigger towns and the scenery isn't much different from my home area. Don't have a great desire to ride all the way there though. The insects in the summer are just unreal - huge turn off for me.

  13. Assuming missiles aren't flying around by then, a Morocco trip at the end of 25 for sure, when the weather cools down. A longer trip than the previous ones, for sure, as I think I'll have less restraints. A couple of shorter rides around Portugal, and maybe one to Spain somewhere, although to be honest I would only do that for variety

  15. I had my full winter gear on today, except for boots, I just wore my usual Harley boots. I had found my triple layer sub zero balaclava that I bought many years ago as well, I stayed nice and warm and had the chin piece on my lid flipped open all the time. It was definitely starting to freeze on my way home, it will be getting dicey out there now.

  22. As stated earlier....Lesson well learned-- & w/ NO injuries...BIG plus.++ You've definitely got some decent neighbors there. Now Shadow can further her biking experience by helping Dad re-assemble her steed. She's quite blessed to have Dad's experience @ hand for a resource.

  30. Tell them no, you can't have restrictions on your work. Who knows what is around the corner, circumstances can change. Been through this with my Mrs when she sold her Hairdressing Salon 20 years ago now. They tried to stop her working at all within a 5 miles radius of the Salon for 5 years, we got the clause removed and the sale went ahead just fine. I think these clauses are a default that are put into business sales contract, of course you can't agree to that.

  37. On a bike, being right and blameless doesn’t unhurt you after crashing. That’s a good lesson to learn early and without being hurt.

  39. I didn't want to go through insurance unless I had no choice. Even though it would not have been Shadows fault it would still have gone down on her insurance record at 17. Also as you say the bike would have written off for the sake of 4 plastic panels and a screen. The prices for those parts is exorbitant, blatantly a rip off in my opinion. The bottom speedo casing slone was £99 FFS. But what can you do apart from build an ugly street fighter/cafe racer type thing. Not something she would like or me. She likes having the best, newest, cleanest CB125F in the college car park. Also the woman didn't want to go through insurance unless she had to as her excess was £500 and next years premium would have gone up. Plus I didn't push it, but she did leave the scene of an accident. On the plus side Shadow is basically fine, if a bit sore, she can't wait to be back on the road. She is tough, has been thrown off horses many times in her young life . I will be getting busy with the super glue to get her back up and running while we are waiting for the new parts to come. I did chide her a little as she was going a little fast when it happened, only 15 MPH but still to fast to stop when the woman pulled out in front of her. I told her I had seen video of the whole thing. Definitely not Shadows fault but a little more caution would have probably avoided the whole thing. I may be being a little over critical but I have years of experience and you can't expect her to get that overnight. I did take her and her mum out for posh coffee and cake to chill after the event, but she is fine, up her boy friends now.
