Been out for another Bimble today but with the Hornet this time with my new pillion. About 80 miles or so again. Went up to Chequered Flag but they don’t open on a Tuesday so we went on to Kit hill for a coffee then a blast back down the Liskeard by pass. Good to give the Hornet a run, first time for a month or so. Lovely this morning but could feel the temperature dropping as we came back. Chequered Flag Gotta stop looking at that GS1000G. Want it but can’t afford it Kitt Hill looking over the Tamar Valley7 points

Went to visit a client on the GS today. I really missed my bike, and it's a lot better than the 1250, too.5 points

Got myself another battery compressor. The little Bosch works great but struggles with car tyres. I have a decent 12v powered one but starting the car and messing about with a wire is a bit of a faff so I got one of these. Proving to be very good so far. Works really quickly and seems very well made.5 points

I would have no issue with paying before riding away with the bike. It’s to ease his administration work, it’s all done in trust.4 points

Rear brake pads done, easy to do apart from the springs, a right faff to get them refitted....3 points

Similar has happened to most people in business, but some relationships go beyond that. And, I can be trusted with that credit, same way as I trust he does all he thinks he needs to do to the bike to make it nice. Goes both ways.3 points

It don't work like that here you get your bike back after you pay the bill but obviously if the guy doing the work is a mate that's different. The Honda dealer i was going to in the 90's was great i used to phone up and order all sorts of parts then go and pick them up and pay when they arrived, when he closed his mechanic reopened his shop as a service and MOT shop and he said myself and a few others were the only ones to have that service anyone else would have to pay a non refundable deposit up front before said parts would be ordered. I do have a similar arrangement with the bike shop i got my Beta from3 points

If you pay when you god dam like, they won’t treat you this way. But my mechanic has been a friend for many years, he prepared my bike like he would have one of his own, as he knows me and what it means to me, so he can do the work that’s needed and then invoice the stuff after it’s finished. Then he trusts me to pay it. I don’t see that as something difficult to understand between friends.3 points

I think it all depends on the circles you move in , we have plenty of customers who settle up for work done by bank transfer after they've left with their bikes. We get very few non-payers .2 points

I thought “PETA” stood for “people eating tasty animals”, that explains why they never invited me back.2 points

I had a surprise today, scoot started 1st jab of the button!. Fuel gauge on car acting the twat, it won't budge off of half full, put £30 of petrol in, still reading half full....... think the car has reached the age where problems are starting to become more regular1 point

So I checked behind all the sofa cushions, I tipped out my piggybank and I sold all my wife’s jewelry and I scraped together enough money for a new bike. I put a deposit on it today but it won’t be here till February. …………. it’s a crying shame that Pete isn’t here anymore because he would’ve ripped the piss out of me, mind you I’m sure some of you can do quite well at that anyway.1 point
