Weather was dry today so got out to finish cutting the firewood i had from work last week also had the chance to try my new log splitter out bloody good tool i broke the handle on the maul i was using. Been avoiding knotty wood because its a pain to split but not anymore It failed on this beasty but it was much larger than what the machine was designed to handle I cut about 100mm off it and it was a bit happier My new wood store is filling up nicely with next years firewood5 points

Sunday morning vibes in Arouca, northern Portugal, stop for an espresso. I liked it, stopped at the same small town cafe, a BSA, a Harley, a BMW and then a nicely restaured Macal. Climbed Serra da Freita, 3° up there, made me sorry to have chosen summer gloves. Phone was on the handlebars and died from the cold, so only took three pictures when stopped up there. Brief stop for fuel And back home in time for lunch. A nice late morning lazy ride, maybe 2 or 2,5 hours out.5 points

Flight went 10mins after it was sposed to. Bit of a joy ride to say the least, felt like a full power take off and almost straight up to get above the clouds rather than the steady climb, and then a proper tank slapper landing.4 points

Kilométrage is the word in french. Since there are so many words in french that written the same way that in english and mean the same, I think that it's a valid word2 points

I cleared the leaves in the garden and collected all the bits of branches and other crap after the last storm last weekend. Now the place looks like the aftermath of a small war again. we are currently in the process of house training a puppy, poor thing almost gets blown into next doors yard everytime he goes out for a wee.2 points

Just had a 15 minute power cut i blame these electric car owners panic buying electricity because of the storm and overloading the system, which prompted me to dig out my little generator which obviously wouldn't start, not surprised as its probably been 6 years since it last run. The carb was all gummed up so cleaned it all out and its running now but this time i drained the carb before putting it away. We've had the wood burner lit all day so good for heating and hot water for a cuppa as we keep a kettle of water on there when its lit.2 points

I agree totally with the sentiments expressed here regarding all the admin team. Pete’s untimely and unexpected passing could well have been the end of this forum but it’s been saved by you folks from an admin point of view and all those that post on a regular basis. On a personal note I don’t mind admitting that I’ve struggled to make much of contribution since the daft Welsh twat decided to leave us all in the shit. I think it was due in part to his demise but also I’ve had quite a bit going on with my dad and my missus and I just lost the desire to contribute. However, things have picked up and I do feel that I’ve turned a corner and intend to make more of an effort from now on. I might have to return to full Cockney-Wanker mode.2 points

You wouldn’t believe the effort it takes to keep Buckster and Bob from running this place into the ground.2 points

I suppose her moaning does come from a good place in worrying about my welfare . I do like to think I’m capable of keeping myself safe without it though1 point

When Pete passed on it was a very uncertain time for this forum and if I'm perfectly honest I thought it would just end. I know we've had a few flouncers and we could definitely do with some more female members and some aren't posting all that much but generally I think it's going ok. So I'd like to thank Ian for keeping the forum going and in the same spirit as Pete ran it. It's not a bed of roses keeping this forum going so although he can come across as a bit of a c*nt to some newer peeps I think he deserves some big praise .1 point

13F again this morning...w/ a bit frozen fog...reminds me of a few times I slid around in similar condition on my Seca 550 back in the day. It cleared off nicely with plenty of blue sky...so I managed to get the Mullet out for a spin again. I checked out the Trail by the Rail to see if any more progress has been made on it....as they have received another grant towards the completion of it....but no joy yet, but it's always fun to blast down it on the eBike.... So since I had the camera with me, I got a pic of this straight old mid 60's GMC short-wide....I've had 2 of these in the past, but the short-wides are not too common. Blasted camera has some kind of muck on the lens that only shows up when the light is just right...1 point
