  1. I've been looking at car stereos for the Sharan as it crashes on a regular basis and half the touch screen doesn't work. An easy task you'd think but for the VWs can bus system to operate the steering wheel controls and park sensor functions. My eyes are aching compering different models. I've sent a few emails out to try and get the best bundle deals. Now for some lager to ease my troubled soul.

  7. If you care, bike’s back home, and turns out the leak wasn’t leaking anymore, it was just residual oil that was still inside the swinging arm. New seal was still put in now using the proper tool to have it aligned to spec, and we’re golden. I very much wish to go on a two day ride to Alentejo and maybe Algarve before Christmas, but still not sure I’ll be able to.

  13. Managed to get a Ride in, since the weather is cooperating @ the moment...a nice mix of clouds & sun... Trying to make a serious effort EVERYday to put some seat-time in on the Mullet....sure helps to work out the kinks from a slough of old injuries this abbreviated old body is feeling... I ran the battery flat on the way back....sure can feel that extra 25lbs. when the motor shuts down...peddled back in PA level 1 till I got to the bottom of my steep driveway where I turned it back up to level 5 so I could make it to the top....just barely.

  14. My mate was doing a trail ride up on the England/Wales border and I was keen for a ride. I set off at 07.30 tad it was a tad chilly, once I got over the Severn Bridge I went up the Wye Valley to encounter freezing fog. This wasn't pleasant and by time I got to the meeting point I was frozen. Thank god it was a cafe , and a bacon roll and two cups of coffee soon revived me . Gaz and Phil were on fairly big bikes (KTM690 and Husqvarna 701) and I was supposed to be on my DR650 but i knew the lanes would be challenging so I took the WR250 and on the first lane I knew I'd made the right choice. it was slippery everywhere and as I followed the two fishtailing bikes in front of me I had much less of a wrestle........... The order of the day turned out to be fallen trees, Gaz had expected this after storm Darragh last week and had brought his saw with him. Here's Phil getting stuck in with the saw ............ While I stood around taking photos and cleaned my safety glasses ...... Succcess.............. We then encountered a bigger jobbie later on but manage to saw some branches off and make our way past ........ After having to turn back on one trail as there were multiple trees down we headed up onto higher ground. This is 'water breaks its neck' a trail that was closed for many years and on that I hadn't ridden for at least 15 years . It was glorious up there and made it worth the effort .

  25. Interesting night, probably best not be sick in Cornwall tonight. Down to 3 cars for the whole county when there are usually 8. . Doesn’t make a lot of difference to us on the ground as we can only work to capacity but it is providing a piss poor service. Like most of the NHS we are clinging on by our finger nails. Currently in Rock for an End of Life call. Then Camelford, Newquay and St Columb, Be more after that, gonna get the mileage in tonight. Lot of people waiting a long time for care.

  37. Asda, Yarmouth market then spoons at a guess as she's not up yet. Renewed my bike insurance yesterday, £308 for 3 bikes. Might make an effort to ride the basteds next year.

  38. For reasons that probably aren't too hard to figure out considering my username, the 270 degree crank was a big selling point to me. This bike is WAY off my normal buying habits, that was one detail that helped it make the cut.

  39. I brought one of these home last week, just in time for ski season to start here in Michigan. It'll be about five months before I can ride it, so for now it's sitting in my basement shop looking for ways to spend my money. With 0.5 miles on the trip odometer (total miles still says 0) it's got a Quickshifter, upgraded front brake pads, Upmap unit & reflash, Swingarm spools, USB port, tail tidy, and various warning stickers removed. Oh sure, you shake your head at that one, but I've removed five so far and have four more to go. Not to mention various barcode labels and an incredible amount of yellow marks that indicate somebody gave that item attention at some point. It will have better tires put on it as soon as the seasonal sales start. Or maybe sooner if I get impatient. I even got to break out the 3d printer. In prep for trackdays I've printed a couple plates to capture the nuts on the mirrors so they can be removed without disturbing the fairing. I am also anxiously awaiting the release of an add-on wiring harness to move the front turn signals onto the headlight, like in other parts of the world. Because if I don't do that, I'll still have to remove that pesky panel to get access to the mounting bolts. Come on Aprilia, figure it out. You don't have to make attaching/removing things so piddly. I had an RS-R a few years back they used something like 37 long screws just to hold the airbox lid on. Annoying. It may also get an exhaust, another reflash, rear shock, and fork inserts too, but I think those will wait until I've actually ridden. Maybe not. In stock USA trim there are five warning labels visible from this angle alone. F'ing lawyers...
