Twas a mudfest today , my boots and helmet bare testament to the shitty conditions .............. Luckily the Untied Nations car wash was still open on the way home ..............

So, plan A was to play golf today. Mixup on the bookings so had to give that a miss. Plan B was to take the mountain bike out but found the rear tyre was flat and all the slime in the inner tube splashed everywhere. I’d run out of spare inner tubes so plan C was put into action. Plan C was to take the bike out for a spin which I did but ended up getting caught in a sudden downpour and soaked through with no waterproofs in my bag. You could say I was destined to go nowhere and stay indoors today. Beer o’clock it is then.

Don’t sell yourself short mate, those two activities take quite a bit of effort.

There is a scrap place quite nearby but I need 22mm tube or the anti squirrel thing won’t fit. I thought the chances of them having a couple of meters of it might be slim but I will give them a buzz. If I can get a short bit the right size I can weld a bigger bit on each end if needed.

Our bird feeder is falling apart but rather than buy the same crap again which will last 2 years and rust away to nothing I thought I’d make one. Rooted through my bits of metal that I have and can’t find any suitable stainless or aluminium so will need to buy some. The only bit I want to reuse is the half sphere plastic thing which stops the squirrels getting on to it so the new tube needs to be the correct dia for that. Cant believe how bloody expensive stainless tube is. There is a metal fabricator by the station 5 mins from me, might go up there after new year and see if I can scrounge some

I did have my chainsaw trousers on underneath my waterproof over trousers, they were surprisingly comfortable when riding the bike i may have stumbled upon something lol

I only carry a pistol - must be a real pussy.

I’ve had stainless and ali bits from my local scrap metal yard usually for free but I do weigh in a lot of copper in with them

Fish and chips used aint cheap any more ... even from a traditional chippy.

My daughter and her boyfriend are off to Austria skiing today and we have to drop the boy off in Ledbury to met up with his girlfriend and then he's off to the Isle of Man with her so me and the wife will be on our own for new year, But thinking about it we wouldn't see them if they were home anyway. And @Pedro just so you can feel a little less victimised the last time the boy went to the Isle of Man with his girlfriend the both of them were taken aside by security and interrogated like you were and his girlfriend lives there LOL

I was off out to cut some firewood i spotted this morning but went to auto parts first to get the replacement bolt for the daughters car and what should i see in their car park when i was there it was a big tree down so i cut that up instead, saved me a much longer trip bloody hard slog on my own Still trying to work out what tree it is, some of it was already cut for me the wet ends of it have gone an interesting colour Annoying the neighbours cutting the pre cut bits to size My wood store is now full finished the day off with the annual Christmas wrapper burning
