Window fitters done their work, all windows fitted except the front room, the one they were going to fit it too big. Good thing they realised before they ripped the old one out. They are back on Monday with a correct sized replacement.

For a while now I have been thinking about the steering on this bike, every time it goes down the steering gets out of shape with the slightest knock and I end up having to re-align it . It has chinese risers on the handlebars and I think they keep flexing so I bought some of a different style to see if that improves things. I fitted them this morning and they look the business but don't have as much rise, time will tell whether they improve things .

Get a chinky diesel heater, run it on red diesel. They are about £100 and even come with a remote control. I can fire the thing up an hour before I go out there and it’s lovely and toasty. I’m contemplating getting a used steel rad on Facebook marketplace and running the exhaust through it. Just waiting for rip out a tall thin one locally that I can get cheap.

My steel shed is like fridge in winter, sometimes it is warmer outside of it, it has no electrical power, I did once think about putting a underground cable to the shed, but I would have to dig a channel and go under 2 concrete paths, which is too much like hard work, so I make do with a extension cable to power my electric heater and lights. Only good thing about it, it does not suffer from condensation, roof leaks a bit though.

Apart from Clipstone colliery headstocks there is very little evidence of the former collieries existence around here, the spoil heaps have been flattened and any building were demolished as soon as the pits closed, most had a trading estate built upon the grounds. May try a little ride after the storm has passed, I need to go and see if local bike shop can order me some disc pads.
