  3. Mandis off for a spa day with her friend later so I have a free day, other than going to pay for the younger boys new car. The Rover head is all ready to go back together but as it's got to be taken 7 miles up the road to the rest of the car I'll leave it till next week as I've got to have a good think of what to take with me. I always forget something so I bet it'll be 2 trips. The shed I did the head work in is a tip so a bit of time is needed in there. We have a "tap room" opened a while ago in the high St which has a cherry beer so I might well slip down there for a swift or 2.

  10. Good afternoon everyone, It's coming close too 1 year since my dad passed, time has flown by very quickly. I thought it'd be good to quickly reply to some questions i've gotten either through here or on FB / Whatsapp. 1) The funeral was small, it was only myself and Ali in the end, due to Spain typically having a funeral with-in 2 days of the passing it was all done very quick and suddenly. 2) I got to see Pete in hospital the day before he passed, he seemed to be recovering well, so it was indeed a shock that he passed the following morning as i was arriving to visit him again. 3) I've taken over his business and also the forum for the time being, so things will still continue to be online for the foreseeable future. 4) Ali is doing as well as could be expected, she's still living in Spain but it's going alright. 5) I'm not planning any public service or remberance for Pete this coming year, there's still a lot on-going, but i appreciate all the love / support from everyone. Please do continue to take care of the forum and yourselves, i do come to check-in on things from time to time. Best regards, Scott - Petes youngest Son (Living in The Netherlands)

  12. Been doing some tree work with the help of my youngest lad. The HSE would have had a fit but no one injured or dead and nothing broken. I'll call that a win but need to go clear up tomorrow. Im getting to old for this physical crap, everything aches.

  13. Not been doing much as usual, fitted a home made draft excluder on the inner garage door it was a bit cold on my bare feet in there, and then swapped the XR's front Michelin starcross for a Michelin Tracker i had given to me, took the old tyre to the dump only to find it closed at 16:30 but the marmite wagon got a run, first time in about 3 weeks the rest of the time i spent hiding from the cold in the house. Not sure what i'm doing tomorrow yet.

  17. My experience is pretty much the same as yours. The motor is an animal for sure, I have come to the conclusion it's the power delivery that makes it feel quick, pulls really hard at lowish revs where you do most everyday riding. I absolutely love it. A fantastic bike that I see no need to change. I have only done 3500 miles in the 16 months I have owned it as I have been doing most of my mileage on the CBF600. While the CBF is a comfy old slipper with good wind protection getting off it and onto the Hornet makes it feel a beast all over again. Not sure how you will get on with that screen, I had the same one on my CB500F and I didn't notice much of an improvement, but you are probably a different shape to me so it may work differently for you. I always thought it made my CB500 look like an alert Cockatiel Oh and if you are looking for a rack the SW Motech one is excellent, beautifully made and a perfect fit and not very obtrusive to the look of the bike.
