I no longer make long term plans, take each day as it comes, i would like to do much more with my time left, but there are restrictions that prevent many things happening.4 points

Made me realise how precious time is, had to come to the UK last week for my dad’s cremation. He was 88 years old but just makes you think about how much productive and healthy time you have left.4 points

I applied for my UK state pension this morning. The money will be nice but I’d swop it to step back twenty years.4 points

You're so in the dark ages, these dudes are modern workers. If you look you'll see that their vacuum is a Hetty as opposed to the more commonly used Henry . Apparently Hetty has a stronger suck .................4 points

Some pics from my trip down to AZ & back, in 2011.... Been to Crater Lake a few times since I was a kid... Riding down to there was awesome... Then went down the east side of northern CA...down to Susanville & then crossed over into NV... Camped out roadside at about 6k ft. level... When I left the next morning, this was the only greenery around for miles... Turns out to be a bird sanctuary....kinda cool out in the middle of the desert.... 1 thing I'll never forget is the clear desert sky's at night... I covered 2500 miles...down to Parker AZ & back....all in 98 hrs....about 625 miles per day....It was a blast!4 points

Fortunately, had no need for water-proofing anything as it was early Sept....so the rain fly that covers the screen'd roof of the tent, was left home. That old Windjammer fairing was kool for just stuffing my sleeping bag into just in front of the gauges...no need to bungie it on the bike. I really loved the crisp air at the 6k ft. elevation....reminded me of skiing quite a bit.3 points

Boilers good it's got a ten year warranty on it and serviced every year, anything wrong with it is an easy fix not like the piece of shit i had before it. Its the heating system i'm worried about, it's at least 25 years old and a lot is buried under floors that will be difficult to get at. There's a few places i can see evidence of leaks where the copper has gone green below compression joints but are dry. My thoughts are whats leaking is so small it's evaporating so i can't see it, i think its got to leak a lot worse before i find it. I did find a leaking hot water pipe while looking for the problem it was wet around the compression nut but dried out as it ran down the pipe that was an easy fix just quarter of a turn with a spanner sorted it.2 points

Off work today as i had to visit the dentist this morning for a checkup, or should i say so they could take money off me for the sake of it. I've had a productive day so far, i weighed in some scrap, fitted a steering wheel control interface in the marmite wagon so i can use the buttons i thought i could live without on the steering wheel, took the boy to his training course and just changed the flush valve on the upstairs toilet which has been driving me mad these last few weeks, i originally thought it was the fill valve so i changed that and it was still dripping, the drip, drip, drip, in the nights was driving me insane, so this week I've been turning the water off to it every night to stop the drip, which then led me to the real problem. After turning the water off overnight i found the tank was empty in the morning the flush valve seal was leaking slightly and when the level dropped in the tank the fill valve opened causing the drip, fuck me i can see why the chinks used water torture in the past. Now all i have to do is find the bloody leak on the central heating system, i haven't topped it up since fitting the new boiler about 8 years ago but this last week i have to top up the central heating system daily and i have no idea where its going can't find any wet patches anywhere.1 point
