  1. Cafe Nero is the best I have come across, bloody stunning coffee. Grace the girl I’m getting ready for her CBT at the moment works there so we get her staff discount. Which is just as well cos it’s a bit spendy. Lovely though.

  2. Mandi got busy with some work she wanted to do so I went and pulled the water pump off the Rover I'd just got back together. It was ticking over and I could feel coolant hitting me. The bearings were noisy anyway and I'd already mentioned that to the owner. I also had the alternator off as I thought it was at fault for not charging. I've never had the keys and have been hot wiring and didn't realise the Ign has to be on to power a relay for the alternator, but do now.

  12. Yesterday I couldn't find a spanner i use in work, it is one of my favorites and not cheep. Last time i remember seeing it was on a job i had finished on Thursday on Barry Island. So i took the dog out to go see if it was still there this morning and a good job i did because not only was it there but the 10 flange bolts i was using it to fit were also along side it I bolted everything up and was on my way, ended up riding to Tintern and doing some dirt roads on the east side of the wye valley up to Monmouth and back to Abergavenny. I think i felt better riding the dog this time out and ended up doing about 150 miles, the bike was almost as filthy as Bonnie Blue when i got home Some photos of the Clidach railway which is now a cycle route 30 years ago i went through one of these on my old CB750 they have blocked the entrance now so couldn't get in with the bike. may go and walk it tomorrow.

  13. The Dear Maid managed to drop her bike again. I got the phone call I dread last night, from a tearful Shadow informing she had dropped her bike. There is a railway bridge near Par Docks entrance where Artics from the docks often drip diesel, just for good measure there are two manhole covers on the bend as well. Just past the dew point last night when the road is a bit greasy she spun out coming out from under the bridge. Luckily is was low speed, traffic was light and she is okay if a little scuffed. Little damage to the bike, the footpeg bar is bent, couple of scabs on the plastic work on the bike but the bike already has some battle scars so nothing to worry about really. Also knocked the visor off her helmet. Helmet and visor aren't marked but one visor pivots is broken, ordered a new set from HJC for £20. Of more concern to me was that she was not wearing her boots but Nikes so she has scraped up her foot which is troubling her, not serious but painful., Also had a lump on her right leg that I can see will bruise up. The footpeg bar is going up to her uncles to be straightened out so I will repaint that and fit it. I had a moan at her for not wearing her boots and protective bottoms, but to be honest, in perspective it's probably the type of spill most of us has had when young and daft, she is okay and relatively unscathed. Quite impressed how tuff the little CB125F is. Stress I could do without nonetheless.

  14. Holy crap, no wonder the high streets are full of coffee shops, they must be gold mines. I don't drink coffee (or tea) so never frequent them. Glad shadow is OK, hope she gets her confidence back.

  44. Wet and horrible here but clearing up now. Rugby on the box later. Gave the CBF a good clean yesterday along with Shadows bike. Prolly go out for a long sin earlier tomorrow as suppose to be lovely. Oh and I have the weekend off for a change. Took the faded old tank protector off the CBF today and ordered a replacement as the paint isn’t that good. Just for a tidy up really.
