  1. Well it’s been a while since I posted anything on here, it’s been a busy time going back and forth to the UK and all that entailed and then I guess I just got lazy. The weather lately has been pretty hit and miss, we’ve had loads of rain for the last few weeks which is unusual but today seems to be the end of it……thank fuck for that, it’s like living back in the Peak District! Anyway, new bike this week! The old FZ6N is still holding together and seeing as it’s not worth much I think I may just keep it. Originally, I planned to get the CFMoto 450 MT and having paid a deposit before Xmas I was told it would be here in February……then it was March, then May……..maybe……the final straw was the dealer telling me they had received only one bike when they had ordered twenty and the rest wouldn’t be here until late summer! I actually felt sorry for the poor fucker. Thought about the new 2025 700MT but again the delay was likely to be huge………and I was sick of waiting so I bought one of these instead and I pick it up Thursday. Yes, it’s a Chinky/Italian bike but I’ve always been partial to a takeaway. It ain’t no lightweight trail tool but it’ll be perfect for days out and longer trips. Without further ado, I give you the Benelli TRK502X….

  4. Just got my seat back from being recovered. The old seat was sun damaged and to be honest just looked old and manky. So I tidied the bike up a little, also got rid of the Givi top box and fitted a new tank pad along with the recovered seat. Anyway found this cheap on FB and got it recovered. Chuffed to bits with the results, top quality work and turned around in 4 days. The chap is Steve from SAS Autotrim. He is based in North Wales. You can find him on FB, good as gold to deal with, very reasonable with no messing. I will always use him from now on.

  5. Went for a nice ride today. Lovely and sunny but a bit cold when the wind picked up. 130 miles in total via Brecon Beacons over to Llandovery and then back home via the Black Mountains.

  8. Completely get that mate. part of the reason I didn't get one and ended up with an older Honda CBF. In the UK you can get a Pre reg 502X for £5k which I think is a real bargain. Proper everyday usable workhorse.

  10. Just got back in, it's down to 2c here, they were gritting the M8, there were only six bikes at the regional AGM tonight, the rest turned up in cars, fucking lightweights.

  11. Just been out for a bimble on the CBF, had to do a post office run for Shadow. Stunning sunny and dry here. Bloody cold still but you can forget that when the suns out. Only managed to clock up 20 miles but sometimes that's enough to put a smile on your face. All around local roads that I have been riding all my life, just makes me happy to be out there on 2 wheels.

  14. Yes mate they seem to be holding up well. I watched a video the other day of a Spanish guy who had done over 80,000klms on his without any mechanical issues whatsoever and he’d properly battered the thing all over the place. I liked the 702X and to be honest if finances had allowed I’d have probably gone for one but needs must eh!

  15. On my XR and the dominator i replaced the float bowl screws with Allan key head screws. I can now remove the float bowl to remove and clean the jets without taking the carb off, its a bit fiddly but so much easier than taking the carb off. I do have a flat slide carb on the dominator not the CV carb, not sure if that would make a difference though.

  16. Good job today in work. Installed some temporary 110v lighting in a pumping station inlet in Newport. It was a bit shitty in there and this was after they jetted it out LOL Fucking lady products everywhere Pity the kids weren't younger i would have taken that balloon home for them If anything went tits up down there this was the rescue area we would be winched out from. The job was so some poor fucker can get in there to refurbish that penstock. That's the big cast iron thingy for those that don't know what a penstock is.

  19. Puncture on the way to work this morning, instant deflation and lots of wobbling to get it into work The good thing about working in a race shop is that it was up on the ramp in no time while I went home to get a new tyre and tube. Lee also gave it a quick brake service while it was there

  23. I really enjoy riding it, I can’t explain why as it is a bit bland. Just warm, comfy and good handling. I also think it is also because it wanks all over my mates multi thousand pound classics and is worth a fraction of that. Perverse I know but that’s the only explanation I have

  30. That's interesting Skip. I have seen several of these racking up the mileage on Youtube. Seem pretty reliable and a lot of bike for the money. I did have a close look at a TRK702 when it first came out last year.
