Someone we know has just got home to Cheshire from their holiday home in Greece, to find that they've got no power! They're dead pleased about that!

We had a cull of books before we came over here because we had just too many to bring with us. We've still got 2 bookcases worth, and I don't doubt the other bookcase will soon get filled! I've got a Kindle and the Kindle app on my tablet, but I just can't get into a book unless I've got it physically in my hand. The Kindle is good for holidays, but that's it as far as I'm concerned. -
Another great 80's song.

I go through periods where I'm reading all the time, then have a spell where I don't pick up a book for ages. I'm just coming out of one of those spells. -

I just re-read Horned Pigeon and Maquis by George Millar, which is his WWII capture, escape and return to France as an SOE agent. Next up is Wind, Sand and Stars by Antoine de Saint-Exupery (who our road is named after). I've got The Little Prince by him to read too. -

The first year of my apprenticeship in 1974 was in the training school on Trundleys Road in Deptford. We could see Millwall's ground from the windows of our training room. Some of the lads were local and supported Millwall. They often offered to take me to a match there, but I declined! -
Happy birthday Michelle, I hope that you're having a great day. 🏍

Petrol Powered Motorbikes to be phased out by 2035

Sounds like you need some, mate, to deal with all that anger? -
Maybe have an offroad bike as well? TBH there's not so many trails in this area, so something more road focused would be better I think.

Here's one that I bet none of you have ever done? When I had my Bonneville one of my mates needed a lift to work, which was a fair bit out of my way. Anyway, I picked him up and we set off onto a short stretch of motorway. The bike started spluttering, so I went to switch it onto reserve........bollocks!! Yep, it was already switched to reserve, I'd forgotten to put it back onto main when I refuelled the last time! Still, we had a nice walk to try to find a filling station and a can to put some fuel in!

Not me, but a mate of mine back in the day, picked up his brand new Suzuki GT550 and rode it to our usual Friday night bike meeting place. The place was pretty crowded when he arrived, so he made his grand entrance on his new bike. When he stopped he went to put his foot down, but his jeans leg got caught on the footpeg and in slow-motion over he went, to a large cheer from the assembled crowd. We went across and helped him up, once we stopped laughing. He wanted to leave straight away, but we persuaded him to stay.

I'll be changing the Honda soon I think. I like the look of the new Triumph Tiger 660, but also the Trident 660. The Trident is a bit different and is lighter than the Tiger, so..........

Lemmy from Motorhead's biography was a good read.

The only times I started the bike, put it into gear and the engine cut out because the side stand was still down was at bike meets with an audience watching! I never did that at any other time. You could see them thinking "twat!".
